Genie, this so reminds me of sitting in my friend Jerry's apartment on the fifth (or sixth?) floor and watching the sky over the rooftops on the other side of the courtyard. It was and remains one of my favorite views in the world.
Someone said, in home, man is roof (protection); and woman is the column (support). I guess children are the fireplace (warmth).
Alexa, I feel exactly the same as you. In fact, it'd be nice being your neighbor in Paris. Thank you Genie for taking us to travel to our Paris dreams.
Alexa, the ones we saw high in Montmartre probably had better views.
Martine, according to Alain, there may not be any chimney sweeps for these chimneys, but I do not know.
Jeanie, the apartments often have lovely views of rooftops and courtyards. How great to have a friend with a view like this.
Revrunner, the ramoneurs of yesterday definitely kept busy!
J and L (aka L. Tarts), many of the streets in this area are narrow and do not have much foot traffic. Certainly, a day as clear as this one was would bring people out onto the streets for sure.
Des cheminées qui ne fument pas.
ReplyDeleteVery Paris.
ReplyDeleteNot too many straight walls here Genie.
ReplyDeleteHello Genie,
ReplyDeleteEven the rooftops and chimneys seem to be jostling for space here. Just, we expect, like the people on the pavements below.
That pale blue winter sky has a chill to it but, yet, there is a hint of Spring.......
Either a chimney sweep's dream or nightmare; I'm not sure which. :-)
ReplyDeleteA very different view of Paris!

ReplyDeleteBonsoir chère Génie,
ReplyDeleteDes toits que les ramoneurs connaissaient par coeur !... Jolie photo.
Gros bisous ♡
This picture draws me right in—and makes me wish that one (or more!) of those windows belonged to me.

Great shot.
ReplyDeleteAlain, c'est vrai? Dommage...
