Le petit dans le jardin

The small boy in the garden

He was bundled against the elements and ready for the day.
Paris children seem to play outside no matter the weather.

It is difficult to call le Jardin du Palais Royal
just a "garden."

  1. Darling Genie,

It seems very poignant to see this image of innocence, peace and calm in a city which has been ravaged by such terrible events of late. The light on the picture is so very beautiful and, perhaps, symbolises the hope that we have that all will be well.

We wish you joy, peace and success for the coming year and beyond. May our paths cross again before too long. Such happy, happy memories of your stay.

  2. This petit garçon is following in some famous footsteps. The PR has been a playground for small boys since 1643—when 5-year-old Louis XIV and his little brother, Philippe, moved here. But J and L are right—this is a very poignant image.

  3. He's got my heart then. Snow was meant for kids: a special gift.

  4. About your yesterday comment:) I invite you to do the same we did to receive your heart... open you right hand and feel a sunflower on it (dad's heart), open the left and receive a lotus (my heart), and open your red rose heart and feel another beautiful red rose (Samara's heart, mom). Then close both hands and join them on your heart.
Now you have a new family... to fight, to celebrate, to cry and to pray together; to love children and to be loved like one of them.
As mom (your new angel to care of you), used to pray when all around the table: "Thanks Lord, because without being wealthy, we are a family healthy and tasty".
(Of course with all respect) ...Be welcomed, "new girl in family"!

  5. I enjoyed all the comments about this miracle on his own feet, ("¡Michelin!" Ha ha ha. Great,Revrunner!); -- Yes, Jane and Lance! All tunnels have their light at the end and BEYOND, the freedom. -- Yes again Jeanie! Nothing to do BEYOND that: the love! Me too love it much! -- Thank you so much Alexa, since the value of things resides in its meaning, you grew the value of this photo for me. Now I see the path of History too in it. -- Birdman, thankfully nothing to do against such a power like the one of this gigant. Just imitate him! -- William, I agree with you: it's a mix of light and emotion in that hesitant steps.
Someone told each man is a unique version of the Universe. I realize here is a Universe coming into being, and I don't have words enough to express the meaning of that for me.

  6. Revrunner, I also though about the Teletubbies!

Dearest Jane and Lance, I was not the least bit worried about you, but so glad that you have returned! I think often of the wonderful visit with you two and all the characters of that week.

Alexa, thanks for the great history reminder. Le petit is definitely in "royal" company.

Merci beaucoup, Danar, for your warmth and insight.

Mr. Bird, if snow is for kids then you and E are kids at heart as you have enough snow for everyone!

    Bises,
    Genie
