Église Saint-Antoine-des-Quinze-Vingts
the primary organ
This great organ comes from the instrument built
by the renown Aristide Cavaille-Coll in 1894 for the mansion of Baron Espée.
It was moved from the Baron's residence on
Avenue Bois de Boulogne to Saint-Antoine in 1909.
You can click here to listen to a short piece on this organ.
Like many churches, there is a second organ,
a practice organ for the choir, which I will show you another time.

Église Saint-Antoine-des Quinze-Vingts
57, rue Traversière

Yes, I would need some practice before subjecting a larger crowd to the noise I could make on this instrument. :-)
ReplyDeleteBet it sounds as good as it looks
ReplyDeleteThat is a magnificent organ. My dad plays, so I'm sure he'd love the chance to get around that.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy to know that some churches regularly offer public concerts... I'd like to listen one, I guess they're impressive! This organ is beautiful, resembles a church itself.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful organ. Thanks for the video. Tom The Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteA wonderful organ - with a history.
