Un chat et un chien

A cat and a dog

This building dated 1903 (Bastier) has two interesting doorways.
The green tiles are an assortment of salamanders by A and M Turin,
and together with the cat and dog, appear to guard the door.

The beautiful wood doors are in pristine shape,
and it would be hard to pass on the sidewalk
without feeling the "eyes" looking down at the passerby.

  1. I like buildings with art. It is something you don't see on the newer ones.

  2. What wonderful eyes you have to catch this! And I have to compliment you on your record-taking. I don't know how you keep everything straight with all the photos you take -- the address, arr., etc. I find it very helpful (I will often write down fun bits in my Paris Someday notebook). But doing it all on the spot takes a lot of time. So Bravo for that. Any secrets to share?

  4. Wonderful craftmanship on this, and yes, it would feel like you're being watched.

  5. This is great! (And the cat definitely looks like a better "watchdog" than the dog.)
