Hôtel du Nord
I took this photo three years ago, a photo of a photo.
It was perched on a ledge behind my table at Hôtel du Nord on Canal St. Martin.
Often, when I look through my Paris photos
I run across this one and wonder just who this man might be.
Is he a movie star, un chanteur, a friend of the restaurant, who?
I almost posted this in black and white,
but could you do that to those aquamarine eyes?
really!
Qui est ce beau gosse?

Ils l'ont fait ! Je leur avait dit, pourtant de ne pas mettre mon portrait dans la vitrine !
ReplyDeleteHello Genie:
ReplyDeleteWho indeed? Alas, we can be of little help!
Try http://www.pictriev.com/ ... searching faces on the web.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your blog - keep it going!

Looks like Comte Saint-Germain to me... he likes to roam the streets and hot-spots of Paris :))... and the look matches pretty well :D
ReplyDeleteHmmmm! I can't tell you who it is but I can tell you it's not Francois Hollander! Bon Vivant J.
ReplyDeleteWho indeed? Has it been three years since we were there????? Oh, my! Time to go back bien sur!
ReplyDeleteWell, it's the Count Of Monte Cristo, of course, who spent years of his life unjustly imprisoned and is now carrying out his revenge.
ReplyDeleteNot very likely?
Glad you did not "monochrome" him. I say actor—but I do wonder how old this photo is.
ReplyDeleteWish I could help. He does like an actor. Those eyes. You're right his eyes are quite charming.
ReplyDeleteHe looks a lot like Bradley Cooper.
ReplyDeleteAlain, tu est drôle...
ReplyDeleteJane and Lance, well if you do not know him then he must not be famous!
OJ, well, I did try that site and it popped up someone who did resemble him but his eyes were definitely brown. Neat site though. Thanks for your comment and for reading often.
Oh Claudia, do you really think it could be the Count?
Joe, now that is really funny. Pauvre François.
William, well perhaps... hah!
Alexa, perhaps he is an actor, but I think that he might even be one of the waiters there. Let's go check it out.
Jean, it was the eyes that caused me to take that shot to begin with. Yes, what charm.
Fran, when I used the identification web site suggested by OJ, Bradley Cooper was one of the faces that appeared but with very low percentage.
Thanks to all for helping find kind-faced monsieur.
Bises,
Genie
M, I have been twice since then but it is time for us to return!
Yes, color was a good choice. Nice shot.
ReplyDeleteI have to say like Fran, I immediately thought of Bradley Cooper.. totally gorgeous eyes, he could buy me a coffee any time :)
