Aux Anysetiers du Roy
pink hydrangeas!
Although the bright pink hydrangeas* were the focus of my photo, this charming restaurant set in a Medieval building has more history than can be imagined. Serving simple, classic French fare, Madame oversees all the food preparations. Devotees of this non-touristy restaurant swear by the French onion soup, Cassoulet Maison, Boeuf Bourguignon and Crème Brûlée.
Set on the quiet Île Saint Louis,
one can step back hundreds of years
into a building which has not changed by much
and enjoy traditional French comfort food ...
which has not changed at all.

Hello Genie:
ReplyDeleteThis sounds to be exactly our kind of place. Good, simple, traditional 'comfort' food served in unpretentious surroundings.
Could it possibly be that the flowers are those of Hydrangea macrophylla?
Nothing says spring quite like a pot full of geraniums.
ReplyDeleteSo lovely! Will keep this restaurant as a "must" for my next visit to Paris. The hydrangeas add just that special
ReplyDeletelook.
Well, I think I would be quite happy with that menu and venue! Beautiful photo and oh -- sounds wonderful!
ReplyDeletePretty picture, but the flowers are certainly what I'd call hydrangeas too.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. I love hydrangeas, but hydrangeas in Paris would be even better.
ReplyDeleteThe flowers look beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt's been too long since I've had beef bourguignon. It's beyond delicious.
Beautiful picture. There is no placed like Paris to get the most favorable French Onion soup. I had my very first bowl of it on my first visit to Paris. I long to return.
ReplyDeleteMyam! Let's go there next time, okay?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers.
ReplyDeleteThis one is definitely going on my list for next time!!
ReplyDeleteI like your perspective. And, the pink hydrangeas. And the fine dining.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo. Will earmark this for our next Paris visit. Thanks!
