Cité Métro Station
The exit at this metro station had more stairs than we could count
and seemed to be even more than the circular ascent at Abesses.
As great as the exercise was for counteracting
the effects of French butter and baguettes,
we found the elevator for our subsequent stops at Cité.

Beautiful Black/white photo!
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Holland.
Fabulous photograph.

Une station de métro qui donne l'impression d'être dans un sous-marin.
ReplyDeleteAlmost futuristic - the metal walls suggest a stern and repressive government. The soft balls of light - friendly and happy other-life-forms.
ReplyDeleteGreat black and white mage - love the contrast of the rivets on the metal. This brings back frightening memories of being lost in the depths of Les Halles with our luggage and no French. I have a tendency to claustrophobic so the experience was quite unpleasant. Warm regards.
ReplyDeleteA very different Paris metro station, quite spectacular... but also one of the few with a quick and well working lift! :-)
ReplyDeleteThis pic seems to come from a Sci-Fi old movie!
ReplyDeleteThe only time I used this station I was going into it, not coming out. But God bless Mr. Otis and his wonderful knee-saving invention!
ReplyDeleteGreat image! --- Gad you found the elevator! I have never been to this stop ... Another item n the list!
ReplyDeleteI just had a flashb back to hauling my suitcase up those stairs. I need therapy now.
ReplyDeleteNice silhouette shot!

ReplyDeleteTerrific black and white!
ReplyDeleteI'll never understand those people who run up the escalators. When didn't they just take the stairs in the first place?
ReplyDeleteI walk up those stairs too.
