Église Saint-Severin - l'horloge

Église Saint-Severin
The Clock

Just beneath the pipes of the Jean Ferrand organ (1748)
is the church clock which on this day was right on time.

In a church that dates back to the 13th century,
I would think that the clock has been updated
and reworked many times.

Do you think that the inner workings are digital?

Looks peaceful.

How curious to see a clock in a church, and high up in the back where it's difficult to see anyway!

Superbe prise de vue !

Could be. The whole organ and woodwork behind and above the clock is also of a much newer time then the church I think.

I like the way they surrounded it in woodwork to make it fit in. I am sure its workings are modern but the rest of it takes us back in time.

Love the photograph of what looks like a beautiful place.

I guess the only way to know would be to stand under the clock and listen for the tick-tock!

Beautiful! And an interesting question!

Many congregations probably wish for such a clock.....for their ministers to consult during the service......

I might be inclined to think it's still analog as opposed to digital.

Beautiful shot!

Your angle really shows of the enormity of this church Genie. Very grand. Oh and no I don't think that the inner workings of the clock are digital but I'll bet it keeps perfect time.

«Louis» has heard the organ in this church. It has a sweet tone that is nicely scaled to this worship space.

Another of your fine detail shots you have such a genius for, Genie!
