Another great day in Paris with no rain. Friend Alexa joined us and we met up with Mary and Betsy from Cincinnati. We shopped the Bastille open air art marché, stopped at Merci on blvd Beaumarchais and ate in a little no-name nothing of a bistro. It was nothing special but a delicious selection of couscous at a more than reasonable price. We shopped and window shopped. We had an aperitif with French friends, a late dinner and a night shoot in Place des Vosges.
Tomorrow will be a full moon and I am hoping for a great opportunity for moon-shots.
Oh, the photo today was not Père Lachaise as for the most part it is well maintained. How sad that there is not a family to look after the final resting place.
c'est une photo très réussie , j'aime beaucoup ! J'adore!! I like this picture!! Thanks & Welcome for your comment and your next visit to my blog. Have a nice day! Cath.
The nice thing about a photo like this is that we can really look at the details of the sculpture. Were I there, I probably wouldn't linger as long looking at her face, etc....thank you for sharing your photos with us.
And thanks for the update on what you guys are doing. Provides another vicarious thrill for me to go through your adventures in my mind.

What a great place for wonderful photographs like this.
She looks quite forelorn.
A good shot
Vandals or just lack of upkeep?
Very thoughtful figure... :)
God bless you!
Cezar
Love the expression on her face!

A great french poet wrote : "Desperate songs are the most beautiful ones ", meaning that there's a lot of special beauty in sadness..
Nice find. Appropriate for the place. I like it.
How sad that the cementary is not maintained but it does make for a fantastic photo.
I could have spent so much more time wandering around PLC. Maybe next time.
She is sad indeed.. I hate to see cemeteries that are either vandalized or not maintained...
A perfect description and you captured the emotion so well.
A sad but great post for the day, Genie!! And the perfect title! Hope your weekend is going well!!

Glad you're having fun. I agree that the cemetery looks forlorn. Sadly.
