"Dodo Manège"
Carousel in Jardin des Plantes
Wrapped in tarp this carousel hides its animal-rides
created to reflect extinct and endangered species.
Jardin des Plantes is filled with treasures
and this carrousel is but one.
On weekend afternoons in good weather
you will find many families enjoying this charming carrousel.

Loved the Jardin des Plantes. The museum with it's dramatic lighting is quite the experience. Would return just to see the carousel.
ReplyDeleteThere's a hard heat wave above Paris those days.I think people will try to find freshness in the shade.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if it is one of a kind. very unusual!
ReplyDeleteWhat an unusual carousel! Very cool

ReplyDeleteThe children just love these carousels, we often have the town parking area taken over with them. Have a good Sunday. Diane
ReplyDeleteKids aren't the only ones who love them!
ReplyDeleteMalyss, it was cold and dreary all spring and now it is hot... Oh well, since it is Paris, I will cut her some slack.
ReplyDeleteStarman, I knew that you love the carousels and I kept it in color just for you.
Diane, I wish that we had an abundance of them in "town settings." Most of the ones I have seen in the US are at Disney World and other attractions.
Janey, I think that this one is unique. Having fallen in love with the charming small Jules Verne carousel in Parc de Monceau, I discovered on this last trip that there is at least one other (Provins, FR).
Carolyn, this carousel is right next to the museum and I hope that you were able to see it last September.
Aimee, you would love to see it in action. Put it on your list.
Bises,
Genie
oh i wish we'd walked to see that
ReplyDeleteA carousel ride sounds just lovely right now. Sigh!
