a decaying street
This small street outside the normal haunts of tourists
has fallen into ruin but the quiet beauty captured me still

for theme day this month. See the other entries here.
Good evening Genie,
ReplyDeleteWhat first caught my eye was the beautiful brick street. Very haunting photo, but I love it.
Wishing you a beautiful weekend.
fondly,
Penny
Danielle
So sad, but a wonderful image in black & white. (Just thought I would check in after my long absence from the blog-sphere. It has been wonderful today catching up with some of my favourite blogs - still a few to read tomorrow. Bisous.)
ReplyDeleteYour image is hauntingly beautiful ... Are the buildings abandoned? Even decay in Paris has a certain charm!
ReplyDeletelove the b/w and how it adds to both the photo and theme
ReplyDeleteHow is it that decaying streets in France still look more charming than those here?
ReplyDeleteLooks good to me.
ReplyDeleteThanks for teaching me a new word -- I had to look up delabre (sorry can't do accents on comments with my American keyboard). Do you think neighborhoods are like marriages, they go through up and down periods? Maybe this one will revive.
ReplyDeletesame here, I don't like things to pristine :)
ReplyDeleteYou had to get off the beaten track for this one—and so worth it. The b/w definitely adds to the ambience. Bon weekend!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like this kind of quiet beauty. Perfect monochrome and take on the theme.
ReplyDeleteI recognised your profile photo immediately from Daryl's Paris trip photos. Made me laugh. Sort of a bonus to visiting your blog today. As to your decaying street, it still has a nice feeling about it. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteI know my Paris, but I have never heard of this street! Thanks for showing it to us in this beautiful photo...
ReplyDeleteYou’ve made a great Theme Day post. I'm glad you picked this to share with us.
ReplyDeleteThis captures the theme perfectly!
ReplyDeleteIt just looks like a street with a lot of plants.
ReplyDeletePourtant c'est une rue idéale pour ouvrir un magasin "Léonidas".
ReplyDeleteHappy Theme Day. Interesting choice and interpretation of decay.
ReplyDeleteQuelle domage, le maisons.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and Bear hugs!

Danielle, I will post again from this charming street. The darkness of the black/white photo does not show all the charm (and kitties) that I found on this street. I love this area and walked the streets with friend Isabelle.
ReplyDeleteAlain, the Spartan King?
I will post another photo from this street and you will think that I have overplayed the decay today... They were filming a scene the day I visited.
Bises,
Genie
Thanks for stopping by An Itinerant Preacher. This is a wonderful black and white photo for CDP theme day. Great photos of Paris, I've never been so I'm looking forward to seeing it through your eyes.
ReplyDeleteI love this picture. It is definitely quiet and beautiful as you stated.
ReplyDeleteMy son has two very close friends who are on a 5 week tour of Europe. Lucky lads. They just arrived in Paris yesterday. Lucky lads. Wait. I already said that.
It IS lovely. :)
ReplyDeleteExcept for a little trash in the gutter, it still looks pretty good to me.

ReplyDeleteSo appealing! I would definitely enjoy walking there. Lovely take, Genie.
ReplyDeleteOui ! C'est un Tableau de David
