A cafe on Rue Auber
A classic street scene in any part of Paris.
This cafe is just around the corner from Cafe de la Paix
and probably not as expensive.
You still get a great view of Palais Garnier
from this sidewalk terrace.

Ah, it does look like my kind of place! Great capture, Genie, as always! Hope your week is going well! Enjoy!

Been there.
ReplyDeleteClassic, to be sure. I like how the waiter's face echoes the customer's.
ReplyDeleteMelbourne should implement cafe chairs facing the street like this. Such a terrific way to engage with a friend while enjoying the antics of every day life. Superbe!
ReplyDeleteLovely cafe..
ReplyDeleteYou are brave to take so many photos of people. How far away from them were you?

I love the boots that woman is wearing. Probably not the focus of your photo though. Smile.
ReplyDeleteLike this one very much, Genie!
ReplyDelete... and the coffee (or the wine...?) is certainly at least as good! :-)
ReplyDeletedrat the weather ... i wish we'd had more opportunities to sit and watch the world go by
ReplyDeleteSure—this is where the smart people park themselves instead. :~} Et monsieur a l'air très aimable.
ReplyDeleteNice b&w.
ReplyDeleteWaiters in Paris are just a magnet to my camera lens. I had to crop out a touristy little boy to save this shot!
ReplyDeletePaulita, I snapped this for the waiter, but when I got it home, the boots caught my attention, too!
Duncan, I am careful in taking shots and this was taken on a busy sidewalk from a distance. I do not take a full face shot without permission (usually).
Starman, I have not, but it is busier than the Café de la Paix around the corner. That probably has something to do with the prices.
Bises,
Genie
Classic street scene in Paris is exactly right! Is there anywhere else that waiters wear these vests and full length 'skirts'?
