Rue de Rivoli
The tourists making their way to the Louvre,
the delivery truck workers, Parisians walking to work...
all the activity of this busy street
does not distract the couple enjoying a morning café.
If this were a quiz,
you would surely be able to spot so many details:
different lanterns, the Hotel Regina signs,
reflections in the windows,
Joan of Arc statue (sculpture by Emmanuel Frémiet),
flags of different sorts, and the list goes on.
Place des Pyramides
Rue de Rivoli
75001, Paris
Paris on the move. My favorite part of your photo is the backward view of the brasserie's sign.
ReplyDeleteJeanne d'Arc et les pyramides, étrange rencontre.
ReplyDeleteUn croisement gigantesque... Une sorte de grand marché des divergences...
ReplyDeleteUne très belle capture photographique.
Gros bisous.
You are right Genie. There are so many interesting details in this photo. I could actually use it in French class and have my students describe what they see... I bet it would keep us busy for a while, and what an opportunity to learn new vocab! :-) Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
ReplyDeleteSo much to look at Genie. I do like the way you have captured the sunlight outside the Brasserie in contrast to the shadows inside. It gives your wonderful depth. This is a photograph that reveals something new each time I return to it. Bravo.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful street scenery with lots of interesting details, like the lamp, it's adorable!

What a lovely scene! The man on the horse immediately stands out for me..

Kuantan nature photos
A treasure trove for the eyes ... I am also immediately attracted to the reversed brasserie sign!
ReplyDeleteI made a special trip to this spot so as to see Hotel Regina. One of my French teachers used to stay here on her many trips to Paris. I loved the mosaics for the hotel embedded in the street -- HR --- my intials. The statue and Hotel Regina were also featured in one of the Bourne movies.
ReplyDeletealways a busy area .. well captured
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a lovely place to sit.
ReplyDeleteThanks for helping me put the proper label on my picture of the horse and rider. It's a lovely statue. When I walked across that area, it was so crowded one could have been trampled or run over if they stopped for very long to look up. I was on my way to Angelina's. I'll have to re-check my pic to see what might be showing that I may have missed. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's so easy to pick out the locals from the tourists!
ReplyDeleteI like this very much. Indeed, Joan stands out (from the Tour de France!)
ReplyDeleteWish I was following them.
ReplyDeleteA marvellous image of what must be a wonderful place to visit.
ReplyDeletecan look at this photo forever
ReplyDeleteI want to be there , walking behind .
