Relationships formed, others broken, problems solved, others made, tourists recovering and others lost. The hubub of this cafe suggests it has seen it all Genie.
I stayed in a friends apartment near Rue Cler and once I got over the fear of going out on my own in the evening ... (it was a brave step) I had to go there every evening .. Have Kir or Wine and then home to the apartment .:-)
We had a lovely dinner at a restaurant on Rue Cler called TriBecA. It was fine, not great. But the time there, the memories and ambience made it something to remember. Perhaps if we had been able to dine outside...
Hope no one drinks too much and has to use the "restroom"! I remember how socked I was when I went into one and it was a hole in the tile floor. My students refused to use it. So funny. Loved eating out on the streets. So filled with the feel of Paris. genie
What a fun shot for the day, Genie!! I love it! Have a great week!

Des chaussures de ville ou de sport, mais assez chics dans l'ensemble, il faut dire que le quartier l'est aussi
ReplyDeleteShoes are always the great bane of traveling. No matter how many pair you take, I never seem to have the right ones to cover all occasions. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture, looks like a busy day for this "café"!

ReplyDeleteHaha, now I'll be looking at shoes and think about what you wrote!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great Parisian scene!
ReplyDeleteI love people watching too, and I'm sure the lovely little cafes around Paris would be the best place for it!
ReplyDeletethank you for drawing attention to the shoes. they do tell us so much.
ReplyDeleteI always chuckle over the pointy toed men's shoes in Paris!

We stayed at a small hotel on Rue Cler one of our trips, I loved the small walking street and all of the shops
ReplyDeleteIt's true—you can tell a whole lot about someone by their shoes. [But on my last trip, I fooled everyone by wearing someone else's. :~} ]

ReplyDeleteRue Cler is too touristy for me!
ReplyDeleteMy shoes would tell you that I have very big feet. And that I like comfortable shoes that I can slip into without lacing and rarely have to polish.
ReplyDeleteIt must be good, look at that crowd.
ReplyDeleteAlthough tourists have found Rue Cler, it is definitely a neighborhood and on weekends you can see the families out for a stroll and shopping.
ReplyDeleteI love shoes but limit myself for Paris trips to what will fit in a carry-on... I could not wear heels on those cobblestones anyway!
Bises,
Genie
Looks like a work crowd to me!!!
ReplyDeleteRue Cler is one of my favourite streets.
