Two café chairs...
one for sitting, and the other for...
Just outside the café on the warm terrace,
this young man watched the pedestrians taking a Sunday stroll.
Was he waiting for a friend, for a sweetheart? We will never know.

I'm going to say a sweetheart Genie, it's Paris after all, so romantic oui.
ReplyDeleteHe looks very happy, I am thinking sweetheart..
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo Genie.
Too cool.
ReplyDeleteHis girl friend went to freshen up !
ReplyDeleteHmmm... I do that all the time
ReplyDeleteone chair for sitting
the other for leaning
and a place to put my bag.
Yep, sweetheart -- either his or he's hoping to attract one! Love it! Have a great weekend, Genie!!

Hmmm. The casual position, relaxed into the shoulders with one arm resting yet securing the second chair. The slightly eager gaze to the right with perhaps the hint of a grin suggest a touch of anticipation. The sunglasses combined with the slightly formal jack hanging on the back of the chair suggest a man prepared for all occasions day or night. I think he is waiting for someone and wants to impress. J.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful B&W, and so inspiring! I'd use it for a writing class!
ReplyDeleteGenie, the play of light in this photo is beautiful. It looks like he's on a stage in the center spotlight just waiting for the leading lady to make her entrance and take her place in the chair beside him. Love the windy hairdo, too!
ReplyDeleteWonderful picture!I love his style! :)

I love a photo into which our own thoughts can be projected...I'm thinking he is happy, he is, not waiting, he is just in the moment & very comfortable with that 2nd chair!
ReplyDeleteA super take on the theme. Well done, Genie!

ReplyDeleteThis is a terrific take on theme day, Genie. I really like the human element and how he's casaully leaning on the other chair.
ReplyDeleteperhaps saving the chair for someone who catches his eye...!

ReplyDeleteJust basking in the sunshine!!!
ReplyDeleteUnlike your other commentors, I don't think he's waiting for anyone.

ReplyDeleteI am not sure he waiting for anyone as he is way too relaxed...
Love that you did this in b/w. Very nice! Bon weekend, ma chère --
ReplyDeleteInteresting interpretation of the theme, Genie. I laughed when I noticed that there is a black rectangle lined up with his eyes . . . kind of like binoculars attached to his sunglasses.
ReplyDeleteI think he was waiting to have his photo taken.
ReplyDeleteSpot on to the theme...:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect way to spend an afternoon. :) And my money is definitely on sweetheart!
