Marché aux Fleurs
(Marché aux Oiseaux)
On Sundays the Marché aux Fleurs becomes the Marché aux Oiseaux (Bird Market)
with a chatty selection of birds, from the ordinary to the rare. You may find hens, chickens, roosters, rabbits, fish, Guinea pigs.
If you are looking for color, the birds will oblige your request.

ReplyDeleteStumbled into this colorful scene on our first trip to Paris ... Simply delightful and, oh, so unique!
ReplyDeleteHow many times have I been to Fleurs and not Oiseaux? Next time! I do love these cages.
ReplyDeleteLooks like wet birds on that day.
ReplyDeleteI love the bird market—and tend to romanticize it, but your graphic b/w captures the "business" aspect of this enterprise so well.
ReplyDelete"who let the (dogs) birds out?..." heee...
ReplyDeletePardon my feeble attempt at clever! :)
Thank you for visiting me, sweet friend!!
Bises,

I didn't see any birds in the photo, but considering the rain, maybe it's just as well.
ReplyDeleteThat was alot of caged birds.
ReplyDeleteI live just 2 blocks from the Cité flower market yet I never tire of it. It just doesn't seem like Sunday unless I have at least stopped there for a moment. I use the bus stop at Palais du Justice and walk a bit out of my way just to go through the flower market.
ReplyDeleteI think they flew the coop!
