These graceful ballerinas dance under the Christmas tree of Palais Garnier's gift shop.
What a view of the icy street below.
These handcrafted papier-mâché dolls are illuminated with the flick of a switch.
Palais Garnier is one of my favorite places in Paris,
for the architecture, the music, the ballets and operas, the history, and...
the Phantom.

Just wonderful Genie. I suspect they come to life at midnight.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I like the Christmas tree and the glimpse out of the window too. I must get to Paris at Christmas one year.
ReplyDeleteI love these ballerinas! I also photographed them last year :-) When I first entered the awesome Palais Garnier I immediately thought of the Phantom of the Opera.

ReplyDeleteSo pretty, Genie! And perhaps even more magical when lit ~ is that even possible?
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful picture, the tree and the ballerinas so gracious.
ReplyDeleteSeeing them illuminated..my fist thought was..I want one! Then I would have to figure out how to get one in my carton.
ReplyDeleteThat was carryon . iPads have a way of changing things!
ReplyDeleteadding it to the list of must see when i get to Paris .. sigh .. maybe this coming year ....

ReplyDeleteHello to Nadege. Haven't seen your comments in a while, but then I've been a little absent myself. Indeed, it's always nice to see comments from all of the regulars.
Great photo!
