Marché Cadet
This pedestrian street always has a festive evening presence, but during the Christmas season the lights provide a canopy for the length of the street.
If you are in Paris during the holiday season,
take an evening bus or if you are brave, ride a Vélib,
to see the variety of Christmas decorations all around Paris.

I would so love to visit France at Christmas time. Someday. These lights are great. They run the opposite direction that I would expect them to. Here’s my Dreaming of France meme
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the lights!! Great capture! And, yes, I'd love to spend Christmas in Paris! Maybe my next life!! Hope you have a great week, Genie!

... or should your caption say: "... IF YOU ARE SUICIDAL, ride a Velib..." ??? :-) An attempt at humor (we need it this weekend, don't we?) Lovely shot of le Marché Cadet, Genie. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful picture Genie! I love the black and white here. And you got two CLET signs as a bonus!
ReplyDeleteI wish we had some lights as organised as that here in Kuantan! Here, they are randomly shoved in trees in no particular pattern :)

ReplyDeleteA wonderful festival capture Genie ... I must visit Paris in the Winter ... SO pretty!
ReplyDeleteWow! This street is really bustling. Would love to take a stroll beneath these lights.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Perhaps I will see them in person next year when I celebrate a significant birthday. Bisous
ReplyDeleteI love them running down the street instead of across! It is such a lovely effect --- and the B&W just magnifies it! Great capture!!!
ReplyDeletegorgeous atmosphere but a Velib in Paris..? no merci !
ReplyDeleteChristmas in Paris sounds like a dream Genie, one day!! Fab b&w image.
ReplyDeleteWould love to be somewhere else like this for Christmas...not because where I am is bad but just to do it because I've never done.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo Genie!
I love the festive street lights in Paris. Magical!!!!

I hope someday ...
ReplyDeleteSo festive. (Not sure I'd ride a Velib at night unless I'd remembered to pack some reflexive clothing!)
ReplyDeleteThis would have been so much more festive in color.
ReplyDeleteJoyful and beautiful. This truly warms my heart! Thank you, Genie.
ReplyDeleteAh, Paris at Christmas...someday! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, dear Genie, for your beautiful message...
I wish you many blessings at Christmas and the New Year!
Bises and hugs,
- Irina
I´m very much looking forward to seeing all those Christmas lights! I´m leaving tomorrow early in the morning...
ReplyDeleteThese are some wonderful Christmas lights.
ReplyDeleteVeronique, we rode all over Paris in October but not at night. However, I did notice that there are lights on the Vélibs so perhaps on the next trip....
ReplyDeleteDianne, you would love Paris in winter when she puts on her fluffy coat.
Vreni, I know some of the places you will be going... Bring back lots of photos!
Bises,
Genie
Great idea about riding a bus at night to see the lights! If I'm ever there during the Christmas season, that is exactly what I will do. Great photo.
