Printemps
Noël, Rêves d'Evasion
Last year Vreni (of Vienna Daily Photo) and I spent an evening early in the Christmas season
snapping every window on Boulevard Haussmann.
This is one of my favorites.
She will be there soon,
and I will miss being there with her to see
and photograph the beautiful windows.

Oh my goodness! How sparkling and exquisite. :) I adore the white lion. The King of Beasts indeed. Superb photograph, Genie.
ReplyDeletetout comme toi Genie, j'adore les vitrines de Noël à Paris en particulier, car depuis que je n'y habite plus je viens toujours les admirer par curiosité et plaisir !!!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, that's a very interesting photograph, and a good photographic idea. Sadly these scenes do not exist in Malaysia, where one can just walk around town past shop windows. Everything is in malls over here!

Great photo, great memories!! I´m very much looking forward to this year´s Christmas windows (In Vienna they are sooo disappointing)! Merci for your nice e-mail!
ReplyDeletewhat a great mixture of glass, lights, sparkles and scary face !
ReplyDeletewish I could go visit Paris soon but family illness might bring me to AL instead.
not easy to get in the xmas spirit when family or friends or not doing well...
This transports you into a fantasy world ... Like looking into Narnia. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteA whole lot of sparkle! Love it!
ReplyDeleteOh! The Narnia lion undoubtedly, but a bit scary!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful!! I love the lion and all the sparkle, too! Great holiday capture, Genie!! Hope your week is off to a great start! Enjoy!

Printemps windows are so over the top fabulous it's hard to capture it all. I love this one!

Wow, they really know how to decorate a window! How beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThis window is a tad busy, n'est-ce pas?
ReplyDeleteSimplement magnifique!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful, Genie! Paris window dressers are masters of too much that somehow isn't too much. How do they do that?
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful shop window.
ReplyDeleteWOW! I would love to meet the people who dream up these over the top displays! This one is really grand! :)
ReplyDeleteI think it's a little much.
ReplyDeleteThis window is simply decadent and I can almost point out this designer's windows from year to year. I will show you another from a prior year before Christmas and I think that you will agree.
ReplyDeleteM, I thought of Narnia too. Although many of the windows are animated and have music, the elegance of this one captures the observer with its many layers of opulence.
anni, I am sending you an email.
Vreni, I hope that you will not miss a single window while you are there and can tell me all about each one.
Alexa, I love how they just have all the china, crystal and silver piled up. Too much without being too much, bien sûr.
Bises,
Genie
This is so beautiful. Thank you for bringing it to us.
ReplyDeleteIt's so elegant and fairy tale like! I have to get to Paris some Xmas time :)
ReplyDeleteYes I thought of Narnia and the Snow Queen also Genie, a very elegant window, just what you would expect in Paris oui.
