Jardin du Palais Royal - les pigeons

Jardin du Palais Royal

In a fence row of about 25 feet (7.62 meters) there were
side-by-side pigeons who had spaced themselves almost perfectly,
although they could not agree on the direction.

Pigeons are not my preference as photographic subjects, but
the sight of 42 pigeons lined up on a fence was worth a click or two.

  1. Look how cooperative-- for Parisian pigeons, I mean. :-) They did try to mess with you by looking every which way, but overall, they were pretty good, les pigeons! :-) Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

  2. I like to watch when tourist kids try to feed them.

  4. Marvelous composition. I am not sure why but I could not get to your sight for a few days.

  5. I wonder which Pigeon got the tape measure out and worked out where they should all perch so they all had equal space between them. Never know pigeons were so clever. Great shot Genie. Glad your blog is back.

  6. Hah! A good one. They are lined up perfectly. I would have reached for my camera, too

  7. I love this photo! That's a pretty large flock of them too. I wonder what they're all planning. This sort of reminds me of a scene from Hitchcock's The Birds. But the background, since it's Paris, is much prettier! lol

  8. They are plentiful there because Madame brings food for them everyday. You should see them swoop in when she arrives!
