Église Saint-Vincent-de-Paul de Paris II

Église Saint-Vincent-de-Paul de Paris

Last Sunday I promised to bring you inside
for a glimpse of the intricate details of this magnificent church.
On the right you can see a portion of the painted frieze around the nave
of 160 male and female saints advancing towards the sanctuary,
painted by (Hippolyte Flandrin, 1848-53)

This photo is taken from the apse behind the main altar
and looking back toward the grand organ and the entrance of the church.
There is more to come...

bon dimanche

  12. So glad you liked the church's interior. I have several more details and interesting items to share with you. Would you believe that in all the times I have been to Paris that I have never been to this church. It makes a statement on the landscape.

Hope that you all have a great week ahead. I can count on one hand the number of days I have been home in the month of October. Sorry that I have not been to visit often.

    Bises,
    Genie

  13. Oh wow, that is supremely gorgeous. I always find it so extraordinary the little known churches of Paris can be so profoundly beautiful, and often so uncrowded too.
