Café le Depart Saint-Michel

Café le Depart Saint-Michel

The view above the awning has more of interest
than the tourists at street level.

The red awning, neon sign, fresh flower boxes,
and the building's architecture
have compelled me to photograph this façade every season.

  5. Ah oui ! J'ai souvent traîné mes grôles là ! C'était mon lieu de RDV préférés avec les inconnus qu'on m'envoyait. (Toujours se mettre sous la protection de son saint dans ce genre de circonstances)

  6. Neat cropping Genie. Part of the image can often be much more intriguing than the entire picture.

  7. It's wonderful that they keep the facade fresh and switch things up. I remember another of your photos of this charming spot, Genie, and it's beautiful, too!

  8. Le Départ has been my café for 20 years. I don't think there's anything special about it except that is is close to home and when I don't want my night in Paris to end I can sit in Le Départ until it's time to go home. It's also next to Gibert Jeune so that I can use Le Départ as a meeting place and when I get there early I can kill time in the bookstore.

  16. Good blogger eyes! (However, there are not only tourists on Place St. Michel; it's an important meeting place also for Parisians!) :-)
