Les couleurs de Paris - le jaune

The garden shed

What a simple description of this little fairytale of a building...
a yellow turret with red trim sitting the midst of a tidy garden

This is my contribution to a five-color series of photos,
and with this I curtsy to yellow as bright as a sunflower.

  5. Hello Genie:
Now we should describe the colour of this delightful little building as Habsburg yellow, a colour which we very much like and one which is not uncommon in Hungary - a relic of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

  21. Thank you for your comments. I thought that you might like this striking shade of yellow in Paris. It does remind me of the café terrace in Arles (Provence) and I think it may be Habsburg yellow as suggested by the Hattatts but I should probably verify that in person, oui?

Enjoy your weekend, all! Thank you for asking, Anni, but Isaac just gave our home a tremendous shake and wash... lots of wind and torrential rains!

    Bises,
    Genie

  24. Hi Genie,
How very kind of you to leave such a thoughtful note for me about the kitchen.. Thank you so much Genie.
It is nice to know that all the work is appreciated by your kind words. I like your mother's saying, and it's true... This is how I managed to finish.. I had no idea when I started how long it would take me... But you know, it matters not, as long as it gets done.
    Bless you,
    Penny
