Hello Genie: Somehow or other, to us the open window which you show here is so typical of many European cities, something certainly which is never quite to be found in London in the same kind of way. What is so reassuring about it is that life, possibly quite simply, is lived and maybe not so very different from how it always has been.
Airing their clothes and linens is a custom in most parts of Europe. Cuts down on laundry. Having a bit of green...in their only possible bit of sunshine is sweet.
A little of everything! Wonderful, Genie!!

My favorite neighborhood in Paris.
ReplyDeleteBonne journée,

Everyday life is not always glamorous.
ReplyDeleteThe mundane, the excitement; the ugly, the beautiful; the ordinary and the extraordinary.
ReplyDeleteSomehow, that is very inviting. It is as if they said , "this is my world and you are welcome to see it and be in it."
ReplyDeleteI love open windows, we always have our windows open in this country.
ReplyDeleteWhy is it that Paris windows are always so much more intriguing no matter what can be espied?
ReplyDeleteIt looks to me like they use every available millimeter of space in their apartment.
ReplyDeleteI haven't a clue but I love the color of the fabric in the window! :) LOL
ReplyDeleteI once hung my jeans out the window to dry.
ReplyDeleteI always take photos of open windows like this...

ReplyDeleteI can't imagine airing out my linens in NYC—they'd probably come back in covered with a layer of soot!
ReplyDeleteHow charming!
ReplyDeleteIt suggests a sense of down to earthiness, or practicality, but loveliness in its own way. I love this photo!
ReplyDeleteLovely little window.
ReplyDeleteI do love the open windows and wish that the humidity where I live would permit such. We have no need of steam rooms and saunas.
ReplyDeleteThis appears to be a family home as I note the holiday decals on the windows.
Thank you for your kind comments today.
Bises,
Genie
