Kept waiting at le Nemours....
At least there is much to catch one's interest near Palais Royal,
Comédie Française, Place Colette...
How about a glass of bubbly?

Une coupe de champagne ? Oui je veux bien alors un champagne rosé et pourquoi pas un Roederer ?... Très jolie capture que cette scène...
ReplyDeleteGros bisous.
Café Nemours is the perfect place for waiting and watching people!
ReplyDeleteRaymond had just ordered a cafe au lait from Le Nemours when suddenly there was the crash of breaking glass demanding his attention and that of the waiter. Mon Dieu! A crate of Bollinger destined for the cellar had toppled off the back off a trolley. Bubbles effervesced along the gutter. A look of dismay soon morphed to horror.
ReplyDeleteYes, please!!! A glass of bubbly and I could sit there for hours. Have a lovely day!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat b&w picture!
ReplyDeleteLéia
I enjoy how I sometimes make up stories on my mind about your pictures... This is a sad one because now I'm thinking maybe he is waiting in vain, the girl won't show up... see my mind is terrible.
ReplyDeleteSo lonely...
ReplyDeleteI think he needs a bit of conversation. Let's sit down by him, order some bubbly, and chat him up until his date arrives!
ReplyDeleteAhh I recognize the waiter. I caught him taking a smoke break outside one day! And I'll have the bubbly! :)

There must have been something interesting. The waiter thought so too. :)))
ReplyDeleteI think they are both enthralled with the beautiful photographer!
ReplyDeleteBubbly sounds tres magnifique, chere Genie!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot... I love the B&W, and wondering what the subjects are thinking about...

Look at those faces! Great scene. The framing of the picture sets the scene perfectly and the expressions set the imagination in motion. A perfect example of how to engage the viewer, Genie. Perfect in black and white.
ReplyDeleteIs that young man awake yet? Hurry, bring him some coffee! Loved your comment on my blog about "checking the rear view mirror"...
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! He's a very handsome young man... perhaps waiting for the love of his life!
ReplyDeleteinstead of taking this photograph, Genie, beautiful as it is, would it not have been wonderful if you had sat down and started a lively southernese (as we call alabamian here at home) conversation?
ReplyDeleteAmazing b&w shot. Bring on the bottle!
ReplyDeleteI am guessing that there was a fine looking 20-year old woman off to the right, capturing the interest of both men. Right?
ReplyDeleteNo,Jack, it was me - hahaha!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great spot from which to watch the world passing by that I could not help but turn the tables and watch the watchers.
Joe, I'll take the photos and you can write my stories... You always make me laugh or cry.
M, I talk to almost everyone, but this guy was intently waiting for someone.
Love the comments which means that my photo captured your imagination today.
Lynne, thank you, and I was lucky this day to get the expressions on both subjects which makes for a better story.
Bises,
Genie
Très belle scène choisie, ton oeil averti de photographe a su capturer cet instant, magnifique photo!!!
ReplyDeletebonne journée
cath.
I wonder what it is at which they're staring so intently?
ReplyDeleteAh! Perhaps his young lover is making him wait? :) Tsk tsk. He is quite handsome, and i doubt i'd keep him waiting long if he were 'mine'!
ReplyDeleteTwo very different expressions here Genie. I don't know why but whenever I see one of your cafe scenes, whatever time,I get a very urgent need for a cafe au lait!!
ReplyDeletelooked at differently, waiting can be a lovely form of meditation - especially if one is in Paris!
ReplyDeleteThese two guys are obviously looking at something. I wonder what.
