The elegant gowns reflected in this designer's mirror are breathtaking
made of the finest silks, dupioni, antique laces, exquisite silk flowers and hand-painted fabrics
We were invited guests
and spent an hour getting to know the amazing artist and creator of these gowns
Soon, I will bring you back to meet her...

ReplyDeleteHello Genie:
ReplyDeleteYes, absolutely, the gowns pictured are indeed breathtaking. But, equally, we think that the way in which you have caught them in your photograph, bringing out that translucent quality, has a magic all of its own.
We should not envy, and are trying hard not to(!!), but how splendid to have been invited as guests to the studio of this clearly hugely talented and creative designer.
Kellemes hétvégét!
And let me guess. You snapped up a couple of these delights and brought them home with you. Right?
ReplyDeleteNon? Pourquois pas?
The dress is fabulous, and you did such a great work with your camera, very well captured, perfect reflections!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday,
Léia
A very elegant shot! It must be so interesting to be able to see how such marvels are made!

Wonderful capture in a very special place, Genie. Sorry I have been away lately. Life is busy, but I always look at your daily posts even I don't have the time to comment. Bon weekend! Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
ReplyDeleteTres elegant Genie, how fab to be invited into the inner circle, looking forward to meeting the designer.
ReplyDeleteI did see Cafe De Flore today, it wasn't what I expected, very intense. Wasn't sure at the start what to think, but as it developed I really enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend it, but not if you're in the mood for something lighthearted! Hope you have a super weekend Genie, soggy weather her in Perth.
Beautiful gown! I can't wait to meet the designer. Lovely photo!
ReplyDeletegreat reflections in the mirror.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful!

ReplyDeleteAren't they fabulous!
ReplyDeleteA lovely mirror shot...
ReplyDeleteOh, I am curious to your next post. Love to see the fashion what's covered now.
ReplyDeleteHad to laugh about your comment about you husband and his cola light, you must have felt uncomfortable about that in a Paris cafe.
That must have been tons of fun! I'm looking forward to meeting the talented woman who created such gorgeousness. Bon weekend, Genie!
ReplyDeleteWhat a privilege Genie to be invited into this workshop and be surrounded by such finery ... Wonderful reflections of exquisite fabrics

Beautiful lighting on romantically flowing material! Fascinating photo!
ReplyDeleteInteresting designs.
ReplyDeleteWow, how does one get invited to something like this. What does one wear to a fashion atelier?
ReplyDeleteRob-Bear, they would have been ridiculously out of my price range.
ReplyDeleteRuby, I thought that you would like the painted silk.
Holly and I were standing in the street, talking about a dress in the window, taking photos, examining the design details, when she came out of the door and invited us in. So glad that I didn't run for it!
It was an amazing treat and we became friends.
Bises,
Genie
Oh, we were not dressed for an event as we were on a full day's schedule of Paris places. Our fashion statement? Holly did have on her red coat and I was wearing chartreuse leather gloves if that counts - hah!
ReplyDeleteI will give the Couturier a miss, I don't think she can find something I can wear. LOL
ReplyDeleteOh, my goodness, Genie. These fabrics are gorgeous. I can just imagine what a thrill it must have been visiting the designer. What a once in a lifetime experience. Your picture just wets my appetite for more. Cannot wait. The reflection in the mirror which you captured are stunning. I still wonder when I see your name and look at the thumbnail not recognizing it. This is the closest our names have ever come to each other. I am waiting for the time we think we have double vision when our names appear sif=de by side. XOXOXOXO the other genie
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful encounter and such a designing talent! These gowns (and your photograph of them) are exquisite!
ReplyDeleteThis photo is so thoughtfully composed: the reflected gowns spill out of their frame and become one with the fabrics surrounding them. Excellent shot!
