This works so well in B&W Genie and btw, good luck with the 'grumpy chops' I'm going to incorporate not only this week but always 'squenching up my nose' along with the 'nonchalant shrug' it should work well, either that or I'll look like a complete twit haha!!
There is so much to see in this sequestered garden that goes far beyond the Buren columns. Alexa, these are at the opposite end from Grand Véfour at the northeast corner and there is a narrow passageway to the street beyond. We walked through Palais Royal many times during our recent stay as our apartment was only 2 minutes walk from this spot.
It has, like so much of Paris, a different personality for each season and for each time of day, enhanced by the solitude of its emptiness or the liveliness of people enjoying all that it has to give.
Beautiful and so interesting and just what I would expect in Paris! Terrific B&W capture, Genie! I do hope your week is going well! Enjoy!

So much columns, like to warn us: beyond this door you'll be back to the noisy reality..

ReplyDeleteMakes a great graphic shot, especially in b&w! This is the exit by the Grand Véfour, oui?
ReplyDeleteLove the B&W for this architectural masterpiece!
ReplyDeleteLove the B&W, and think that I see the "l'homme en noir" there in the corner lurking about!
ReplyDeleteJ'adore Genie. Beautiful.

Almost everything has been said -- except, the diagonals add a lot to the image-- wonderful capture.
