Sculpture and vines - Ciné 13 Théâtre

I think that these vines have been growing for more than a few years.
What do you think?

Do you think that the sculpture over the window would show better without?

  1. Il ne faudrait pas davantage de verdure... Il serait dommage de cacher une si belle beauté.

  2. My horticultural knowledge doesn't extend to assessing the vintage of vines, but I do feel it would be nicer to frame the sculptured detail rather than engulf it. Beautiful, Genie.

  3. I would not know... the only thing that matters is that once again, you succeeded in capturing a beautiful picture and make us see things that otherwise we wouldn't have.

  4. I like it the way it is: not too much green, so the statues are not hidden, but a small touch, to give things a special charm;

  5. I think it has its charm with the green leaves.

  6. I love vine covered buildings. Perhaps the vine could be clipped around the sculpture? Warm regards.

  7. I'm not a fan of vines growing on buildings. This is another hidden gem that you have found Genie. I am also intrigued by the window.

  8. It has that certain unkempt Parisian charm. However, I would prefer the vine to be trimmed around the sculpture and the window to enhance the architecture. Lovely photo, as usual!

  9. I think it's perfect the way it is. I love these details you see in old cities.

  10. Round windows always grab my attention...and vines too. Neat scene. Yes, the sculpture itself would be better without the vines. But, in totality, I like it the way it is.

  11. I've always been a fan of ivy growing on buildings Genie, gives it that 'permanent' look. I don't mind the ivy around the sculpture, but eventually i guess it might get too thick. I went to see Midnight in Paris yesterday, the cinematography was too beautiful, I really love Woody Allen movies, have you seen it Genie.

  14. Next summer, the goat and his ladies will be covered by the vines. I'd trim them back some, just to show the details.

  15. Much as I love a vine-covered building—and this one is beautiful—I'd have to do a bit of trimming. (You and V and Eric are certainly thinking alike today, Genie!)

  16. I like the mystery and grace that the vines provide and how they emphasize the flowing lines of the sculpture. It has an atmosphere akin to l'après-midi d'un faune.

  19. I guess the art would stand out more without the vine, but the vine add so much, too.

  21. I love the texture and color the vines provide and I imagine that the autumn colors will be stunning. I do wish that they would trim it back just a touch to reveal that lovely sculpture.

Thank you for all your kind comments. I leave for Paris in only one more day!

louciao, you may have to become my writer when I am at a loss for words... lovely!

Beau gosse, it is nice to see you here again... missed you!
