Walking with Peter and Marie down Rue Tholozé in April, I captured this shot through the open door of an atelier." What I did not know from this unasuming scene is that Orla Kiely is an award-winning fashion designer.
I discover much as a detail-oriented photographer.
Orla Kiely
4, rue Tholozé

Métro Abbesses
Une bien jolie photo et quel trophée cette prise!...
ReplyDeleteGros bisous
oh dear...knowing that she has an atelier in Paris is dangerous knowledge! Especially since I'm heading up there next week...
ReplyDeleteBetter leave my credit card at home!
Also, I just looked at the address and it is only 2 blocks from where we're staying! :)

ReplyDeleteI love candid shots.
Warm regards.
So that's Orla? I love her casual and nonchalant elegance!
ReplyDeleteLoulou, this all looks like a sign to me. :)
Wonderful portrait! If we had only known then ... What damage we could have done to our bank accounts! (And what fashion divas we would be today!)
ReplyDeleteThe dress looks pretty, but I looked at the prices, not so pretty...
ReplyDeleteYes, you do and you are so good at capturing those details that so many of us miss.
ReplyDeletethis image makes me smile and the slow reveal of its layers enriches it even more.
ReplyDeleteYour photography is landing you with the rich and famous. You just might join the paparazzi!
ReplyDeletealso the client should receive an award .. both ladies look wonderful in their naturalezza
ReplyDeleteExcuse me while I generalize, but what a great Irish face!
ReplyDeleteI think she looks quite friendly. You should have stepped inside for a chat Genie! :)V
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, Genie. I looked up Orla's website and must confess I loved her accessory line (you know the French, we are suckers for great accessories!) -- Anyhow. Gorgeous -if pricey- handbags and wallets. The clever lady even has a whole line of accessories for Mac products. My MacBook Air would look so cute in one of her sleeves! Sigh-- Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
ReplyDeleteYou do always get such great "un-posed" for people shots, Genie! They are the next best thing to strolling the streets of Paris! This one is a perfect example! Hope you have a wonderful evening!

This is a darling, feminine shot. Are you in Paris now? I am jealous.
ReplyDeleteMaybe she'll design something for you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lucky shot! You really have a talent for taking the most interesting and inspiring photos I have ever seen!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot.
Kris
Wow what a capture!
ReplyDeleteA nice candid photo, Genie. For me, fashion is Nike and Tommy Bahama and occasionally Ralph Lauren. A discovery of this designer would have been lost on me.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is a big Orla Kiely fan. What a fantastic photo - so natural and presumably taken quite quickly but a great candid shot.
ReplyDeletegreat shot! interesting!
ReplyDeleteI hope that you went back this trip and delivered her photo to her! Maybe she would trade for a cute umbrella (or one of those fab dresses for your sweet daughters!) :-)
ReplyDeleteHope you had a lovely day today and can't wait to hear what adventures and discoveries you uncovered!
And pass the info on to us—merci, ma chère!
ReplyDeleteSympa ce cliché...

The right place at the right time doesn't make a good photo. Your lovely shot is thanks to your skill!
ReplyDeleteI like the B&W treament for this very "intimiste" scene. Great capture!
