Epicerie Bastille

I snapped this petite shop from across the busy Boulevard Beaumarchais. It is narrow among many larger offerings on this wide street at the edge of the Marais, but there was as much activity in and out as a hive of bees.

Bon weekend

  3. So charming and colourful, Genie! These places are so convenient at odd hours and for some food supplies on the run...and when you cannot face entering a Franprix or G20. Many times they are run by a Family with everyone involved...Papa helps you find the veggies you want, Mama rings you up...with Baby and/or le Chien pulling at her wrap whilst she is wishing you a bonne journee/soiree! Ah, Paris!

  13. It looks brand new! Very cute but you don't want to do all your shopping at these places. More like the French version of a 7-11! HA

  14. So sweet and colorful. My mother always took us to Farmers' Markets, even when it wasn't the cool thing to do. As a European, she needed her fresh produce, meats, and breads. So, each time we moved, she'd find the farmer's market, butcher, and bakery immediately.
Have a great day ~ xox Alexandra

  18. "SUPERette" might be a bit of a stretch for this tiny place, but these stores do often have an amazing variety of things considering their size! The produce looks lovely too. I'm playing catch-up (work is beyond insane)—loved your dapper gentleman with the white roses!

I love this photo. It looks like a painting with all the different colors of fruit and the lovely awning over the shop. Great photo!
