Early one April morning Marie and I found this gentleman just beginning his daily routine, arranging the café chairs on the terrace of Café de la Paix. It was designed by Charles Garnier, the architect of Palais Garnier which sits just over your shoulder.
I would love to stop there this Monday morning for une noisette with my friends.

And I would love to be there with you, Genie, mon amie! How fun that would be! Love your capture as always! Hope you have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteMany hugs,
Sylvia
doit on mettre des gants pour ne pas salir les chaises ou les chaises sont elles sales ?
ReplyDeleteYes, very elegant avec des gants blancs performing such a task! Great shot, Genie!
ReplyDeleteI noticed the gloves, too....
ReplyDeleteI had no idea this cafe, which I used to pass every morning on my way to work, was designed by the same architect as the Palais Garnier! :)
I like the morning light here. The promise of a beautyful day.

ReplyDelete{Sorry, Genie ~ blog-lag & low blood sugar are a bad combination!!} This has that lovely feeling of the promise of a new day. Wish I was there with you too, Genie!
ReplyDeleteLook at him! Isn't he fabulous - white gloves and all..x
ReplyDeleteMmmm … Me too, Genie. This place looks a little up-market for me though.
ReplyDeletelovely photos, so beautifuul places!
ReplyDeletekisses from Portugal :D
I love sitting on terraces and watch people.
ReplyDeleteAnother chair photo. Nice capture.
ReplyDeleteAnd a new day starts... now :)
ReplyDeleteNice capture
Moi aussi! Could really go for coffee, croissant, sweet friendship and a cool morning right now! Bises ...
ReplyDeleteThe white gloves are the real fascination in this photo. I love that early morning light in Paris that you have captured.
ReplyDeleteBreakfast in the sun at one of these tables sounds enticing.
ReplyDeleteI'll join you but café creme is all we can afford at this place!

What a great view to have while enjoying coffee, Palais
ReplyDeleteGarnier no less!! I have got to start saving for next year Genie!! I adore your 'angel' from yesterdays post, it's quite a unique church, somehow it seems just the right spot for it near Montmartre!
Fantastic image Genie nicely lit no glare off glass
ReplyDeleteBautiful photo Genie
ReplyDeleteLooks like a shot from a movie.. You are quite the photographer..

April was the perfect time for this. It was summer.
ReplyDeleteRight now we have April showers and almost April temperatures!
I am with you on this one! I would love to sit outside on a sunny day sipping a cafe cream watching people. It is the small things that make life enjoyable.

Wonderful shot, Genie! Like Bibi, I worked near here at one time and had no idea Garnier designed both. I'd love to join all of you, but will have to make mine a café crème too. :~}
ReplyDeleteMatin paisible.
ReplyDeleteI so love the fact that he's wearing gloves. Tres chic.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo, very nice.
ReplyDeleteThat's quite an image!
ReplyDeleteThis fellow is even wearing gloves, must be a chic place?
God bless you!
Cezar
1. Look at those gloves!
ReplyDelete2. The green of these chairs is perfect.
3. Loved your comment today.
4. You are such a clever girl.
5. Thanks!
Hi Genie, yes, Rome was so beautiful! I'm so glad to be back in the blogworld again and I would love to sit down here, too! Have a lovely week!
ReplyDeleteLove, Kristin
I have never even had a café at Café de la Paix. We stopped there once, checked their prices (ridiculously high) and kept walking.
ReplyDeleteHow I would love to be in Paris right now Genie - sitting on one of those green rattan chairs drinking a cafe crema and chatting about Paris and photography and food!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your visit and kind words Genie.. So happy you enjoyed Honey Bear.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week.
fondly,
Penny
Looks like a nice place for a blogger meeting.
ReplyDeleteI have never stopped here for un café or a pâtisserie but when I checked the menu on their website, it did not seem outrageous to sit outside (before 11am) and have a coffee and 2 viennoiseries. The pastries were 2 for 5 Euros and the coffee was not listed.
ReplyDeleteThe gloves? I think that it is white-glove service and not a protection of latex gloves.
It is rather upscale as was mentioned, but I would gladly meet all of you there!
Bises,
G
Avec beaucoup d'élégance...
ReplyDeleteIl est certain que celle-ci doit se retrouver ensuite...
gros bisous
Look how nicely he's dressed. I'm impressed.
