Avec l'amour

In the hours just before twilight,

the pace of the day slows and gives way to more tender moments.

  3. Ah Paris! The picture has reminded me Robert Doisneau's classic "The Kiss in Front of City Hall".
You should try it in black and white!

  4. Sigh … I suddenly feel very old.

I love the way she's casually studying her nails. Parisian women have such style.

  6. Ah what a lovely moment Genie, young love..I saw a similar thing while walking yesterday, very nice to see in this hectic, often crazy world.

  7. Only in Paris are young lovers so expressive! Well, I did see it in Rome one time, but they were sitting in front of the French Embassy.

  9. Took one look at the bench and hedge and thought, "Palais Royal"!!! I've been hanging out there too much! HA

I hope she's thinking tender thoughts and not thinking she needs to get a manicure tomorrow or worse yet, there is on cell phone in her hand! :)

  14. Your picture with two lovers on a bench shows what I think in a lovely way: a bench is an island for lovers, an oasis, a protected aera just for them..Pretty picture!

  15. Interesting how some of us see love and others see a cell-phone, mirror or nail-checking! Nicely caught though, Genie.

  18. She is a lot less attached to him than the first glance suggests. I see more interest in how her nails look.

  19. You are such a sneaky woman! (I really like that about you. :~} Made me think immediately of that great Georges Brassens song.

  20. oh yes ! Definitely, the french song that matches with this lovely picture is Georges Brassens' song "Les Amoureux des bancs publics".
This is a very sweet picture.

    Bises !
    (Ps : yes ! I'm back!)

  21. Hi Genie,

This is such a tender image. The French really know how to show affection without caring what anyone else thinks. I love this about them.

I had to laugh when I read your comment under my post The Pink Pig about being obsessed with linens. It is also a terrible obsession with me as well. If given the choice of a new purse, some new shoes or some Cote Bastide (my favorite) or any other beautiful linens old or new guess which one of the three I would choose? Ha, you guessed it!

  27. You've definitely captured the essence of LOVE here. They look so adorable and quite comfortable. What really stands out to me is his ring and his hands on her legs. I wonder what they could have been talking about?

  31. Beautiful shot!!! How is this for a caption? "Don't fret mon cher, I'm pretty sure the baby is yours?"

  32. Interesting how some people see ardor in this photo and others see disengagement. Count me among the latter. Thanks of this one.
