Un mélange de vélos

These bikes near Place d'Aligre remind me that today is a "rest day" on Le Tour de France. I do not think that any of these will be found in the race when it resumes on Tuesday.

  5. Great photo! But imagine having to free your bicycle out of such a mess... On my Vienna blog you find a photo of barbie´s scooter today. As I see in your photo, she was in Paris with her "vélo"...

  6. Melange is a great description, Genie! Makes untangling chains in one's jewellery box look like a picnic.

  7. That's a bit like my 'jumble sail' Genie, I bet every one of the owners knows exactly how to get to his 'steed', I would have the red one!!

  8. Wonderful image - such a collision of spokes, a tangle of rubber and melange of metal. Chaos at it's best. Congrats.

  9. Colourful bikes, in the "Tour" they become more and more futuristic. We follow it every day on TV. Mostly I look at the beautiful landscapes of France they show and not at the cyclists...

  13. Like Shell, I think you've nailed it with the word 'mélange'.

  14. So that is what vélos means! I've seen it before but was not sure.

  15. Maybe it would be a lot more fun if the Tour riders had to use real bikes like these. Wonderful photo, Genie!

  16. This is great, Genie! I wonder if they're all still there since you took this shot—they almost look like they're locked to each other!

  17. Thanks Genie for adding a bit of color to an uneventful day... and a hint of things to come, perhaps?
    Cheers from Montreal.

  19. I don't know why, but bicycles in Paris make me think of love.

And I definitely love this! xo

  22. That's quite a cluster. I'm looking forward to the Tour resuming. I love the scenery! (I actually saw signs during my recent trip announcing that the road would be closed. So bummed I missed the peloton et al.)

  23. These wheels might not make it to the Tour, but perhaps you could avail the officials of your photographic skills? Love this Superior Snap!

  24. Hee... some of those bikes on the TdF cost more than my car! I doubt any of these do though. :)

  25. This is a nice, colorful tangle of bikes. I was in Oxford one year ago and I have never seen more bicycles in one place than there. The whole city was a tangle of bikes. (And I bought myself a new bike last weekend, just because I wanted one.)

  26. Un beau rayonnement de cycles...
    gros bisous.
