Out on a night shoot with Marie and Janeen at the Louvre, we stopped by Café Marly for a peek and were able to wander through the various empty dining rooms for some photos. The few diners remaining had enjoyed the open air terrace on a warm April night.
The trio of paparazzi moved quietly through the rooms with only the clicking of shutters and an occasional giggle.

Confound those paparazzi types. Always intruding into places where they shouldn't be. Like formal dining places under high-arched, vaulted ceilings.

Besides Brigitte Bardot has already left the building.
I'm glad I don't know any of those unseemly scandal-mongers.
On the other hand, there are mild-mannered and delightful people like Genie, and Marie, and. . . .
Strange; their names are the same as some of those appalling paparazzi.
Such a sad coincidence, that.
But a lovely picture, nonetheless.

ReplyDeleteI hate paparazzi's, this photo remembering me on a visit to New York last year in a same kind of situation. There's an atmosphere like what Iam saw in Napels Italy, the Comorra etc.

I was there once... I wanted to have only a drink, but it was noon and as I really didn´t want to eat anything I had to leave it, they wouldn´t serve me only some mineral water.

ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous isn't it? I was lucky enough to enjoy luncheon on the terrace there a year ago. My uncle picked it as the spot he wanted to meet for lunch. It was wonderful. But then when you start lunch by picking the bottle of bubbly you're going to have, it's likely to be wonderful. Such a gorgeous setting. The wait staff were interesting too. The boys wore traditional French waiter uniforms, the girls were allowed to wear whatever they liked- and they were all gorgeous, with what appeared to be large clothing budgets. I managed to take a surreptitious photo of one of them as she glided past. Such a wonderful memory. Thanks for reminding me.

I can't believe this is a restaurant/cafe. It's so beautiful.
All of your pictures make me jealous! I so wish I was there.
The Melbourne GPO has a similar architecture and is very popular with amateur photographers like me. Lovely shot, Genie.
