How many times have I come to the street from the Métro to the stunning presence of Opéra Garnier and not glanced to the right to see this amazing door.
This day I got a bonus with a zoom-zoom, too!
8, rue de l'Opéra
Ma chère amie, Malyss, of Chronicles from the Shore in Southern France has posted a guest photo that I sent to add to her collection of benches in her other blog, Benches on My Way. She has two beautiful blogs and I want to get to her area this next year to meet her in person.
Oh, what a gorgeous door! And a terrific capture, Genie! Your photos are always such a delight! Hugs, mon ami!

I always adore your door pictures, Genie!
ReplyDeleteFinalement, il y a porte et porte. Celle-ci est majestueuse tout en étant toute en finesse.
ReplyDeleteIt IS beautiful ... and you and Eric must have been on the same wavelength today!
ReplyDeleteI love pictures of these doors in Euope...beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBonjour Genie!
ReplyDeleteVery well done my friend, this door is magnificent and I love the composition with the beautiful woman in that motorcycle.
I also visit "Benches on my way", and your picture is really great, congratulations!

Ah, face to face with the door!
ReplyDeleteSometimes ,we did not realise that things we say every day are real treasures!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the links! and i'm already waiting for you! :o)
What a gorgeous door to see when coming up from the Metro! I loved your bench from Pere Lachaise on your friend's blog Genie and am amazed at how many amazing benches she has found. I will definitely be looking at more.
ReplyDeleteI think you and Malyss will have such a wonderful time together. May a gentle breeze lead you to her door.
ReplyDeleteElle est magnifique.
ReplyDeleteThose doors are gorgeous! I wonder if they are heavy to open? Or is there a smaller piece of the doors that open?
ReplyDeleteWhat glorious doors. You know, I didn't realize it until recently, but I have a thing for doors and Paris has some of the best! I liked the door you showed recently with the doorknocker too. Thanks for this picture. I just got a little Paris/door boost.
ReplyDeleteAmazing door! And the zoom zoom lady is so very Parisian! Wish I was coming out of the métro at Opéra avec vous aujourd'hui!!!!
ReplyDeletethe bike woman is pretty cute too ! she is in the perfect spot.. not blocking your Opera door.
ReplyDeleteGood lesson how to learn to see what we don't notice usually !
ReplyDeleteI love your photo's and France!
ReplyDeleteI lived there for some years and now back in Holland again. Hope to go there in september. Is the upper photo from Isle de la Cité?
I was there last year in Hotel Henri IV at Place Dauphine, cheap but very good hotel.

Now, THAT'S a door! (Could say the same about the bike.) I can see how you might miss this when faced with the splendor of the Opéra Garnier—so I'm very glad you didn't this time.
ReplyDeleteUne tres belle porte indeed!
ReplyDeleteYou are rediscovering your city, your places, your corners, your doors. Enjoy it!!

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful door!
ReplyDeletewhat beautiful photo you snapped!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! That is what I love most about Europe, the visual feast around every corner:)
ReplyDeleteBonjour Genie!
ReplyDeleteWhat a magnifient door... I love it.
Thank you for visiting Bebe in Italy and your kind words
everything about this place seems unreal. those doors and i'm sure all types of architecture there must be absolutely stunning!
ReplyDeleteto answer your question regarding Lightroom vs. Photoshop... LR simply because the ease of use once you get the hang of it. I just recently learned how to do spot corrections that I would have normally have done in PS. It was all self-taught which adds to the enjoyment of finding a new feature :)
I look forward to more of your photos.
Wow !! I must say that i truly-deeply love your blogs(photos & descriptions). They are magnificent !
ReplyDeleteExcellent doorway today, Genie. This is one that needs to be enlarged and warrants a careful examination. Nice one!
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower and I just want to tell you that your background picture of the Seine and the surrounding area is breathtaking. I'm awestruck by it.
ReplyDeleteI love places like this. When you see it in all of it's beauty.
ReplyDeleteI am always looking for unusual doors, bright-colored doors, freaky doors, door-knockers (les heurtoirs), and hinges, and key-holes....
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you discovered this one with me... Oh, and the doors are full length as they open - no small door within the frame.
Bises,
Genie
Well apparently I've missed it many times as well. Good spot !!
