Zoom-Zoom VI

This petit garçon was at full throttle alternately pushing with his feet and coasting in perfect rhythm. I was glad to see he was wearing a helmet, color-coordinated with his balance bike, bien sûr!

Can you tell that he is a French boy? Why, certainly you can... he is wearing a chic scarf

... zoom-zoom!

My dear friend, Shell Sherree, whose artistic talent is well-known, has posted a watercolor inspired by one of my photographs. She improved on the original as only she can do with un petit chat hiding among the flowers. I am truly honored, ma chère amie!

  3. Really good photo :)

We don't have in Finland such a balance bices, but my douchter lives now in Swhitzerland and before that in Germany, and her sons have (had) those. It was "terrible" to see how speed the boys can bike with them. And the older one, now 4 year, has no problem to start bike with a really bycicle early in this spring.

Thanks for your visiting in my blog.
Have a lovely day with sunshide.. :)

  7. Enthusiasm, joy, and abandon on two feet.

Does he have a licence to drive that thing?

  8. I like the "speed effect" you offered to him! I'm sure he would be very proud to see himself in such a way!

  16. He looks very cute. Nice captured in his speed.

  17. how wonderful he is in his chic scarf. you make him appear to be going at some speed with the focus sharp on him and soft all around him. i even love the shadow the bike makes on the surface beneath his feet.

  18. Not only is he wearing a chic scarf, his bike is totally cool! Plus the matching helmet. What fun!

  19. Do you think it's a little boy ?
When I look at the face I find to see a little girl ! Yes there are the pants but to bicycle it's better, non ?
Tell me because you, you know !
So lovely ! Maybe the scarf isn't his(her) but that of his father, because the ground is not very childish !
    bisous

  25. Perfection Genie!!! The motion, the boy, the colors...

  26. Wonderful shot, Genie! The scarf is a giveaway for sure. I can just see this petit Parisien whizzing fearlessly around the Arc de Triomphe on his moto one day!

Bravo pour la netteté et le flou
    A bientôt

  29. The French are becoming more Americanized every day. I would never have thought they would make their kids wear those stupid helmets.

  30. An absolutely fantastic photo! Love everything about it.

  31. Rien est plus beau que l'innocence d'un enfant...
Merci pour votre gentil commentaire laissé sur mon blog.
Un grand merci pour cette belle photo...
    Gros bisous.

  32. Genie, you are a genius (but you know that already)! I love the colors, and they way you caught the boy so clearly and the remaining action blurred. Wonderful!!!

  33. My first thought was, look how cute he's dressed! Adorable photo!

  34. hahahaha! Wonderful shot. Carefree youth.

  35. Sara Louise -- Merci, and I bet that Fifty would want to run alongside!

Sylvia -- Adorable regardless of the nationality, n'est-ce pas!

    Pierre -- Merci, mon ami.

orvokki -- You are right and this type of bike makes it easy to learn how for the little children. Thank you for your comments also! Hahaha, his scarf is so very French...

megi -- Merci, mon amie. Have a nice sleep tonight.

Suzi -- Merci... I should have had a video of this one as he was moving so fast. Glad that you saw Shell's watercolor!

    Bergson -- C'est vrai! Merci

Bear -- I think that just sums it up, mon ami! I do not think he has a license but he was definitely speeding (as was the petit on a scooter) hah!

Malyss -- Yes, I will probably print out this shot to take with me when I return to Paris... one never knows when you might run into the same kiddo.

Grace -- Merci. It is interesting that he had totally mastered the balancing aspect of this bike, spending much time "coasting" without his feet touching

Léia -- Merci, mon amie. This was the only shot I got and was fortunate that I could "track him" with my lens

  36. elsa -- Merci! I just love saying onomatopeia - hehe.

Shell -- The French are just born with that talent! Merci to you, mon amie for the lovely illustration!

Ann -- Style with green shoelaces no less! Merci!

Andy -- Thank you, mon ami

Kelley -- So glad that your whole family enjoys the posts... gratifying indeed, mon amie!

Joe -- From your talent and photos, I greatly appreciate your comment... merci

    biebkriebels -- He was a cutie-patootie!

brattcat -- Well, the truth is that he does not just appear to be going a some speed.... he actually was very, very fast! I did not notice the wheel shadows until I got it home on the big screen... merci!

Carol -- Cute and fast! zoom-zoom!

AA -- Yes, he was pretty color-coordinated. On this particular day, he was the only one with a balance bike. Most of the other kids had scooters

Danielle -- I thought that Marie might chime in today on this one, but we watched the children for some time. I felt pretty certain (98%) that it was un petit garçson but the child is quite beautiful. I think that we watched until this family left and "he" pitched a fit not wanting to leave... all "boy"

Liz -- Yes, I wish that I had that energy!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Kathrin -- I have always love photos of children because they are so transparent with their feelings and present an honest face to the camera... merci!

Nathalie -- Merci, mon amie. It is a small scarf and I think "child-sized"

Richard -- Merci, mon ami, et c'est vrai! Une expression parfait: "être aux anges!" (merci)

Anni -- He would be a wonderful mascot... and might even carry an olympic flag!

    Chieftess -- merci, mon amie!

Alexa -- I bet his mama would not like that thought at all but he is practicing his speed! merci!

autourdupuits -- Merci pour les mots nouveaux (la netteté et le flou)!

JM -- The subject is so cute and my camera did not create him but I was happy with the blurred background... Thanks for noticing it! Merci

Starman -- Almost every kid that we saw on this trip had on a helmet... this one was color-coordinated

Harriet -- Merci... so glad that you like it.

martine -- Je pense que oui... et pour mon commentaire, je t'en prie

Jack -- I am a Genie but not un génie... glad you like it and I thought that you would ;-)

Tammy -- Merci, just a little Parisian

Birdman -- Carefree, indeed... enjoy, little boy, while you can!

  38. He looks so completely focused on riding his bicycle! I´m wondering if Parisican babies are born with scarfes?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Vreni -- If not, there are plenty of boutiques to get started... I think that he and scooter-boy may have been racing.

  40. Great action shot! I looked at the picture before I read your words. I thought "I wonder if this was taken in Paris" then I saw the scarf and thought "oui". :)

Rob -- I am fortunate that the motion blur was not the entire photo as he was really moving! Merci, mon ami!
