Zoom-Zoom V
My fascination with les motocyclettes in Paris has become more focused on the details. This scooter has many accessories: windshield, wipers, roof and semi-enclosed cab, a trunk for storage, headrest. The leather guards for feet and hands seem quite necessary for a gentleman professionally dressed such as this. What a Beemer!
Also strong Edsel genes...
ReplyDeleteAn utter failure in the marketplace
That cab must be a version of a roll-bar because I cannot see it keeping much of the weather out. Is that a BMW logo I note on the front RHS?
ReplyDeleteWe refer to this as "Human Encapsulation", Genie! ^_^
ReplyDeleteisn't is amazing how people dressed for work, actually get to work.. in these new contraptions?
ReplyDeleteWith doors, it would almost be a car! :)
ReplyDeletehave a nice week-end, dear Genie!
Hi Genie,
ReplyDeleteNow that's what I call a substantial motorcycle, I think even I could manage one of those.
Best wishes
Grace
They were a lot of fun when I was younger. Now of days I prefer to travel by car.
ReplyDeleteVery stylish - but is there room for me in there?
ReplyDeleteThis kind of roofed scooter is so cool and the brand explains why so many comfort details...
ReplyDeleteGod bless you!
Cezar
I think it's missing a couple of wheels.
ReplyDeleteI was intrigued by them as well ... After buying all the accessories ... Have you paid as much as a car? And then, how does the added weight reduce the fuel efficiency? Hmmmm ....
ReplyDeleteI like it in B&W!!
This man and his motorcyclette...they are both interesting hybrids, I think.
ReplyDeleteA Smart Car without doors? I am still LOL at jb's comment. What's with the hand covers???
ReplyDeleteV
They sure can zip around in these! I wonder how much a decked out scooter like this would cost.
ReplyDeleteWould love to have one of these for scooting around NYC (if I didn't do my scooting on foot or underground, that is). You'd even be able to park it. I think you'd get one of these if you moved to Paris for good, Genie!
ReplyDeleteHard to tell from the logo, but maybe this is the C-1E (the electric version). Not cheap, but you can probably go far on a gallon of gas.
ReplyDeleteWe don't see them here much, we have scooters and haavy motor's.
ReplyDeleteBut for rainy wheater it is wonderful.
JB may think this is an utter failure, but if he was to go to Paris, il serait certainement beaucoup de ces.
ReplyDeleteA living room on two wheels! :-) Cool!
ReplyDeleteJB -- You are a mess!
ReplyDeleteJulie -- Oh, yes, it's a BMW. I think that in inclimate weather that there is a zip-on side panel
beau gosse -- Sbbbtt! Love that... "human encapsulation"...
Anni -- This one is so clean and without dents... I would be worried
Malyss -- Perhaps it is for someone who has not quite let go of the car concept yet... bon weekend à toi
Grace -- I think that I have posted a similar style that I saw in the Marais a year or so ago here..http://parisandbeyond-genie.blogspot.com/2011/01/zoom-zoom-rouge.html
Andy -- My parents would not let me ride on one but in Paris, I think that one would come in handy
Cezar -- It is cool and a bit over the top, hehe
Dianne -- There is room for one but only one... I'll take turns with you
Joe -- Haha, there are some with two wheels in front (or is that in the back?)
Marie -- True, but at least you do not have to worry about parking it.
brattcat -- This man does look a bit intense and uptight. Hybrids, hummmmm...
Virginia -- To keep the hands warm, dry, and not covered with the sludge of the streets?
Halcyon -- $$$$$ or €€€€€
Alexa -- I think you are right, mon amie! We must talk about how you are so well-versed in this - hah!
biebkriebels -- I think that a regular moto would not be good in the rain and cold
Starman -- I have seen several and think that the price is the limiting factor
JM -- Hahaha, that is a good one!
That really looks like a fun ride.
ReplyDeleteI think that this BMW is not manufactured any more, but there are some "copies" on the market. Many see it as an advantage that wearing a helmet with this kind of scooter is not compulsory.
