Must be a French girl

In front of La Maison du Bon Vin on Rue des Halles our heads were turned by this mother/daughter scene. With the photos I captured on this recent visit to Paris, my "must be a French girl" series will be well-stocked. I hope you approve.

  6. I definitely approve, both of the series, and the photo, and the little girls style- so glamorous for the pre-school set.

  9. There are many kinds of french girls. For me, she's not so much french, she's more "from Paris"..:)

  12. I'm looking forward to more of this series too. I think maybe little Parisiennes are just born with the "chic" gene!

  15. She has that certain ~je ne sais quoi~ just like her Mum.

  16. Chic down to the matching headband. I can imagine her twirling it around in a circle.

  17. Très chic! I have even seen American ladies visiting Paris being très chic!

  18. Adorable. One can never be too young to make a fashion statement!

  19. When I started my blog on 14 juillet last year, I had many photos of people on the streets who I thought were so chic-ly dressed that they must be Parisian, or surely French. Sometimes the post comes more as a question than a statement as we evaluate and imagine, and undoubtedly I am fooled from time to time...

  20. Also her hair, cut in a fashionable little 'bob' and fur trimmed boots, lovely.

  21. Sylvia -- Merci, and best of luck with your move!

JB -- Again, you are pulling my leg, but it is nice to see you here

A-M -- Yes, and a fashionista comme toi would know that it is not a school uniform... Merci!

Richard -- Oui, elle est très chic et peut-être une jeune fille française

Suzi -- With the French children on spring holiday, we saw many more children on this visit

Louise -- What fascinates me is the seemingly effortless ability to achieve "the look" for these little ones.

Sam -- Do not let JB fool you -- I thought the headband was a perfect accessory to the coat... just completes "the look"

Marjolijn -- Merci, sweet friend. So glad to see you again and wish you a wonderful week!

Ann -- I did not see her until she had already passed me so I could not verify the rest of the ensemble, but I would guess that it is all adorable!

Malyss -- I think that you are right. It is only my general feel that for sure the French know how to carry off a fine look. On this trip Marie and I found many who strived for "the look" and just fell short. I will count on you for the fine distinctions between the Parisians and the French girls in general... merci

Andy -- I had several last year, perhaps 4 or 5, but now will bring these out more frequently

Alexa -- Absolutely! There is either a "chic gene" or an environmental acclimation for this. When you see it every day it becomes de rigueur

Ruby -- The princess cut and detail matched with the coral plaid is so stylish! Merci

Marie -- When I put the title on this I almost selected "petite" French girl, but thought that someone would notice mamman -- Merci!

Dianne -- Just adorable! I agree, mon amie

Tena -- I think that the coat has little bows on the front pleats which can just barely be seen on the right. I think that she was twirling that matching headband!

Peter -- Tu es gentil et tu me fais sourire. Merci, mon ami

Halcyon -- Merci... sending you an email

Harriet -- I am in total agreement! I think that she was swinging her hair as she walked

  22. Perth -- Perky and hair shining, she was quite the little miss... I could not say for sure but the boots do appear to be (faux) fur

  23. Adorable. French and Italian children - or perhaps as Malyss says, 'Paris children' are so chic. Love the photo.

  24. Lovely outfit, a real French lady.

  25. Is it just me, or does she look like she's getting ready to toss the hair thing?

  26. Oh I love her little coat with the matching hair band. Yes, the French still dress their children with style, not like so many here that make their young daughters look like .......well you know!!

    PS Love their boots!

  32. Jilly -- I have seen the Italian children in Florence and thought the same... You and Malyss will have to be my Paris/French experts!

biebkriebels -- Indeed, a petite one at that!

Starman -- Into the barrel? Perhaps...

Virginia -- Uh huh... I know

    Gringo -- Merci, mon ami!

martine -- C'est vrai, mon amie, et merci!

Loree -- Cute with all capital letters!

Picturit -- You can be my new best friend if you put moi et M. Bresson in the same paragraph!

Jann -- We did see some little cuties at Parc Monceau with nannies who we discovered were English, but I do think that this little lass is Parisian

Suz -- You are so kind with your artist's eye...

Marie -- He is such a gentleman!
