You got that right, sister! Love the little bit of light reflected off the slick paving stones (and pretty much everything else about this b&w beauty).
This evokes memories of museum visits, shopping and things one does on a rainy day in Paris.Beautiful photo Genie, love the textures of the stones.......and B/W suits this so well. Rx.
You can say that again! I remember dragging my suitcase in the drizzle that first morning...it was just getting light. Worn out but so very glad to almost be at the apt. door! Thanks for the memoires G. V
well said! this evokes mid-century paris to me and is simply wonderful. the pattern of the cobblestones and reflective light on the rain soaked surface is mesmerizing.
I love those cobblestones. Your angled perspective works here, as does the black and white. But, a rainy day in Paris beats a sunny day where you are? This might be going a bit far.
I am in the whirlwind of Mardi Gras here with a home full of revelers old and young! I have visited each of your blogs and welcome new commenters cheerfully. I treasure your comments, all!
Nathalie says above in her comment that the funeral for revered French actor Annie Giradot was held at Église Saint-Roch (on the left in the photo) on March 4th (Friday). You should check out her career.
I hope that each of you have a wonderful week ahead.

So true! Paris has a special charm on rainy days. I love the look of the wet street and black and white was the right choice imho.

Yes, that's a typical street side of Paris, but...rain is rain anywhere, as we had it 3 days in a row there:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! And a rainy day in Paris also beats a rainy day in Jackson. ;)
ReplyDeleteI bet it does indeed. I must travle to Paris one day. Love your image. Magnificent.

Always love the sheen of rain on cobblestones.
ReplyDeleteI love those cobblestones. Your angled perspective works here, as does the black and white. But, a rainy day in Paris beats a sunny day where you are? This might be going a bit far.
ReplyDeleteA miserably day makes for a great day photo-shooting.
ReplyDeleteYes, and the b&w works just fine with this
ReplyDeleteIt almost looks like the sun is shining on the buildings in the background.
ReplyDeleteFunny how one can fall in love with wet paving stones.
ReplyDeleteOk, it helps that they are in Paris.
Very subtle reflection, works well in monochrome, could step right into that scene. After opening an umbrella...
Yes, Paris is wonderful in the rain or sunshine! You have a fabulous blog! Thanks for showing us Paris.
