La Maison du Chocolat
In a search for the perfect chocolate eclair, we hurried to La Maison du Chocolat at the instruction of Carol (Paris Breakfasts) for the best in Paris. (More on that story later with photos)... After making friends in this chocolate heaven, we stopped to take a photo of the chocolate tree in the window. It is too small for your eyes to read perhaps, but I will whisper the price if you promise not to gasp... (590€) .............. I think I heard a gasp... La Maison du Chocolat19, rue Sèvres (and other locations)
Hello Genie, I enjoyed catching up with all the posts you did on Christmas in Paris- your images-superb and exciting- as always. xo Colette
ReplyDeleteThat gasp was me. Sorry, it slipped out.
ReplyDelete(second gasp from me..) I was there once, and there was a FOUTAIN of chocolate!!I prefered to ignore the price..:))
ReplyDeleteNot sure what would make me the sicker, that much chocolate or the price.
ReplyDeleteIf you have a sweet tooth like me 590€ is nothing. Come January, I am going to return to my diet. Thanks for the great photo.
ReplyDeleteI really love chocolate but hmmmm I need to do some diet! hehehhe
ReplyDeleteLéia
It is expensive but at least, you get to eat the tree and it must be delicious! Wouldn't it be fun to take it to a school on January third and have the kids go at it?
ReplyDeleteI'm on the floor!!! And how was that perfect eclair?? :)
ReplyDeleteV
I bet you've heard quite a few gasps, Genie!! But it is beautiful, fortunately for me, the price would prevent me from drowning in all that chocolate!! Terrific, fun capture!! Hope you have a wonderful week and wishing you a very Merry, Joyous Christmas!
ReplyDeleteSylvia
Coucou Genie!
ReplyDeleteYum yum! Love chocolate!
And your pic makes my mouth water!
Let's make a deal. I send you some snow and you send me one of those chocolate walking sticks;o)

Bisous et joyeux Noël
I am droooling but the price tag is a bit too much for me ;)
ReplyDeleteChocolates are a girl's best friend!
ReplyDeleteLa Maison du Chocolat is not the least expensive place to buy chocolat en Paris. Is it the best? That's debatable.
ReplyDeleteYou have to stop, Genie! Drooling is not good for the keyboard. I'm almost glad to know the price, if you know what I mean. :~}
ReplyDeleteAwww...but just think, it's both dessert for a year and your Christmas tree this year....a bargain at twice the price!!!
ReplyDeleteWould be perfect for the Christmas Party...but a little hard to get home on the plane! :-)
ReplyDeleteColette -- I am glad to hear that someone is not tired of all these bright photos...
ReplyDeleteShell -- I know... I did the same!
Malyss -- Too funny! I did not notice the price when I was snapping photos, but had to look twice when I enlarged the photo to see what it said... WOW!
Julie -- I would not be able to enjoy it at that price...
Andy -- Somehow, I do not think that you will be alone in your resolve
Léia -- We can all do that together in January!
Nadege -- It would be fun to see a bunch of kids enjoy this...
Virginia -- The eclair? purrrrfect...
Sylvia -- I think that the price was enough to bring my taste buds under control
Cildemer -- I love chocolate, too! Hummmm.... sounds like a pretty good deal, but you would have to take a close substitution for these pricey sticks!
Loree -- Yes, I do not imagine that they are having a rush on this item - hah!
Kate -- I agree and a girl would have to have a pretty nice friend to buy this for her...
Starman -- I do not know about the best as there are so many places... also, I think that it is a matter of personal preference... more on that eclair I mentioned later...
Alexa -- I do know what you mean! After seeing that price, I quit drooling...
Chieftess -- I can see you making an argument for it but I do hope that I do not spend that much on dessert in a year
Holly -- Why don't you just make one like it next year?
Well - after working on perfecting macarons for a year or so I guess it's time to start trying my hand at chocolate......
ReplyDeleteDo they have two? I wouldn't want one unless it was a matched pair.
ReplyDeleteHolly -- But can you find a market for these creations?
ReplyDeleteJack -- I just bet that for that wad of Euros, they would make a twin!
Gasping ... but, oh, how lovely! I think I would just have to look at it ... and take a teensy little bite, and look t it and ... Oops -- all gone!
ReplyDeleteMarie -- That is funny, but you have too much will power, mon amie!
ReplyDeleteOh how I love chocolate but I can't get Chocolate and my waistline to be friends. So I must just admire from afar. Lovely photo Genie.
ReplyDeleteI think I did a little more than just gasp! :p Thankfully the photo is free.
ReplyDeleteRandy -- I have to monitor my chocolate too as it is my péché mignon (guilty pleasure)
ReplyDeleteJames -- Yes! and they do not shoo you away when you take photos of the windows... After the purchases we made, I wouldn't think that a little photo would bother them anyway!
