The beautiful Petit Palais is a treasure trove of incredible wrought iron created by the building's architect designer Charles Girault himself. The entrance gates are stunning and the banisters, peristyles, balconies and windows exhibit a certain elegance.
We visited the courtyard here and will come again as there is much more to discover.
(I have been on the road since last Thursday, not in Paris, and I am loading these photos from my laptop, untouched. Please accept them naked as they came right out of the camera. Also, please forgive my lack of accent marks as I am stumped on my baby computer)
The picture is exquisite, Genie. The attention to detail in the making of the decorations is phenomenal.
ReplyDeleteNo need to apologize for the photo; it looks grand just as is. Très bien!
Beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteNot only is this beautiful, it is CLEAN! Somebody must be in charge of dusting these every day.
ReplyDeleteNaked or otherwise, this is gorgeous, Genie!
ReplyDeleteStunning iron detail, very artistic!
ReplyDeleteLéia :)
beautiful! Love the floral detail - is that a thistle? Wonder if they are all the same or if different areas have different floral themes? Ahhh research for the next trip!
ReplyDeleteThe ironwork is so delicate and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI can see thistles too!!!
Petit Palais is grand! ;)
Fantastic attention to detail... I must see this for myself so it's another item for my Paris list. I'll take your naked photos any time!
ReplyDeleteI have a shot of the gorgeous winding staircase inside. I'll have a look and see if the details are the same. I love this place too Genie. Karen, Alice, Peter and I saw a wonderful photography exhibit there in 2008.

ReplyDeleteNaked works for me too, Genie! C'est sublime.
ReplyDeleteBear -- How nice to read your kind comment first thing... I'm not very adept at doing much with my photos anyway but know how to make it b/w, crop, and push the intensity a weensy bit. I am totally lame with the laptop.
ReplyDeleteChieftess -- Merci!
Bibi -- Maybe it's the guys with the green brooms....
Shell and Leia -- Merci!
Holly -- That may be thistle. I just looked at my collection of photos ..... they are all different flowers!
London -- The spiral staircase is spectacular and I will post it another day. All different flowers.
Marie -- That will be on our list the next time!
Virginia -- I really wanted to slide down that grand spiral staircase but held back. Perhaps I will try it en decembre!
