  1. I could polish off all 3 with little problem but maybe a little guilt afterward.

  2. How delectable! and all lined up like little soldiers ~ that looks like a layer of lemon curd , and I'm wondering if that's a piece of pineapple on top~ whatever it is I'll take one for me and one for later. Enjoy your week-end Genie

  3. My goodness these look wonderful. I love this street. I searched Paris for it as I had read about it in Almost French---a true find.

  5. We saw, we photographed and we did NOT taste!!! Ah, again, I wonder if we were momentarily insane on our trip (for surely we are not that self-controlled and disciplined, are we??) I really admire the way you captured the reflection!

  7. You certainly have an eye for all things French, Genie.

Too bad you couldn't send some of those down the wire to my computer.

  17. Wayne -- I think that these are very light so not much guilt there. Besides, there is fruit on top!

Dianne -- I believe that you are correct about the lemon curd. Just typing it makes my mouth water! Sending you two (virtually).

Sooz -- I know that you will be heading that way soon. I hope that you will blog "on the road." Take twice as many pictures as you think you should and have fun with DD!

Virginia -- Every little place has pastries that would beat what we can have on a daily basis (unless we are making them). The rest-stops on the roads have wonderful croissants.

Rob -- If I could send some "down the wire" everyone making a comment could have one. Wouldn't that be a treat! Thanks for the kind comments.

  18. Provence -- Sending you all three and ordering more! I think that they are called Caraibe, but not sure.

Jeff -- Merci! I was "digging" to find a reflection today and was pleasantly surprised.

Sunny -- I haven't either but this on surely is doing it!

Lala -- I've been to l'Orangerie and Marmotan to see the Monets so this will be just perfect. I am headed back to your blog 'cause I love Merci!

Malyss -- It's been said that the reflections do not have any calories!

RuneE -- It makes me want to return, too, as in right now!

  19. Tricia -- Thanks for your comments and for stopping in. Love your lake reflections today!

Jilly -- I have some banana bread but that is no temptation for me. Let's head to Paris for desserts! Hah, you can get some fine pastries in Menton.

Alexa -- I need to post some vegetables so that I won't be as hungry for sweets. miam-miam

Sylvia -- I just stopped over at your blog and left a comment. Love your little turtle reflection photo!

  20. M -- Yes, we really failed as gourmet food testers on our trip! There is no reason to "pig out" when you are in a different place, but I could have justified it anyway!

  24. Genie -- Sometimes there are excellent reasons to pig out when you're in a different place—as I think you've proven today!

  25. I can hear my Weight Watchers leader now saying "Don't even think about Randy!" It doesn't hurt to look though. Wonderful close up!

  26. Elisa en Argentine -- Merci pour votre commentaire. J'aime votre pays et j'y suis allée plusieurs fois. La banderole de votre blog est El Calafate? C'est magnifique!

Alexa -- We will convince Randy that you "save up" so you can indulge a bit when it is so worth it!

    Louis -- Thanks! Yummy!

Randy -- We will get you to pace yourself without blowing the WW plan all to pieces!

  32. What happened in America??? Aren't most of us descendants of immigrants??? Where did our bakeries go wrong??? Most of our bakeries make stuff that's too sweet, too gooey, too, too, too...

Whew!!! Rant over...think I'll go stop by Schat's baker today and get me something sinful!!!

wv: I kid you not... ansin ...

  33. Chieftess -- How does "wv" know???

I totally agree with you about our woeful lack of ability to produce wonderful bread and pasteries. I am doing my part with les macarons!
