Window shopping turned up these stylish and trendy men's shoes at Kabuki on Rue Etienne Marcel. I snapped a photo as the studs in these chaussures caught my eye, thinking at first that they were rhinestones. Thankfully, they were not.
I left these sitting in that store window knowing that my southern sweetheart would not likely wear them. Traditional shape, comfortable, practical for professional job.... okay. Studs? Uh, no.
Do you know someone who might be interested in these shoes?
Kabuki
25, rue Etienne Marcel
You thought they were rhinestones; I thought they were tiny lights! Well....I've had a couple of encounters with nasty street dogs who pester Bibi...but I think it's not a good idea all the same to kick them with these...
ReplyDeleteWow! how classy is that Genie -- and it looks like leather pants the model is wearing. I think a tad too upmarket for us Aussies. Window shopping in Paris is the best.

I think these are so cool! I know two people who would absolutely die over these. Personally, I'd prefer something a little more girly...
ReplyDeleteInteresting shoes. The S&M crowd must be ecstatic. I've missed your comments.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking my friend Randy in Paris might drool! :) And I'm cracking up over Starman's comment!

Cool find!
ReplyDeleteI would have wore those shoes proudly when I was in high school but I don't think I could pull it off these days. They do look very interesting though and I bet they're great for reflections. :)
p.s. welcome to my Something Sighted blog. That's where I plan to post just Paris and some other European photos for about a year.
I leave for Paris two weeks from today!!!
Nope...you won't find those in Mammoth!!!
ReplyDeleteBibi -- Yes, they do look like they have a sparkle, probably due to the spotlights in the display window.
ReplyDeleteDianne -- You are very observant! Yes, the pants are leather. I think that you might see this shoe in a larger more metropolitan area than where I live. In terms of "way out there" these shoes are not. Without the studs you would have a basic men's shoe.
Brittany -- I think that there is a bit of a generational difference in preferences here. (smiles)These would not cause me to stare paired with the right attire.
Starman -- I want to hear more about what you are seeing in Paris and I am headed to your site.
Virginia -- Send Paris Randy over and ask him what he thinks. I think I know what Randy of Santa Fe Daily Photo will say.
James -- I am already ready for "reflection" tomorrow. I am quite envious of your upcoming trip to Paris, but will wish you safe travels and glorious weather.
Chieftess -- Might not blend too well with your lovely, laid-back location with lake, mountains, and snow!
How about Rosa Klebb, 007's nemesis in From Russia, With Love? I can easily picture a stiletto popping out of these bad boys!
ReplyDeleteSome rock star would probably love them.
ReplyDeleteAlexa -- How on earth did you remember Rosa Klebb? If we play Trivia, I want you on my team!
ReplyDeleteLoree -- Yes, these are very haut de gamme, and I can see them strolling into a slick Phillip Stark hotel!
While I appreciate the effort to include us men in "Fashion Week", I'm afraid these aren't something I would care to be caught dead in!
ReplyDeletePaul -- Yeah, that seems to be the consensus from the peanut gallery today. I should have mentioned "fashion week" although most of the fuss is around the women I would imagine. Thanks for stopping by.

Honestly I don't know anyone how might like these. Have you seen them walking around town? Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteRandy -- I knew how you would feel about these. No, I have not seen them walking around Paris (or my town) but I may not be in the stylin' circles. Bon weekend à toi.
ReplyDeleteAt one time my son-in-law would have loved those shoes, he with the spiked hair and the lebrae. Thankfully, he's grown up and is part of the polo and khakis crowd now. Whew...
ReplyDeleteLiz
My son would greatly appreciate them, since he is artsy, and likes to wear provocative things in the classy range (I'm thankful for that, LOL). And I see leather pants are still in vogue!
ReplyDeleteHey, pretty cool! I love the men I know, but they're all too conservative to even consider wearing these!
ReplyDeletei don't know someone who would wear these, but they sure are fun to look at!
ReplyDeleteHopw to transform a classic! :-)
ReplyDeleteFranchement, je ne vois pas mon fils porter ces chaussures!!!! héhé Mais il doit bien y avoir des hommes prêts à les porter....
ReplyDeleteLiz -- It is funny how kids change as they get older.
ReplyDeleteJeannette -- I hope that leather pants will always be in style!
Kate -- I know some men that would wear them and be able to carry it off. It would not be a great look with khakis and a polo shirt - hah!
Amanda -- Yeah, I was fascinated with the concept of "styling-up" some pretty classic shoes.
JM -- Just like you said!
Chrys -- Je crois que tu a raison.
Love these! They're very original.
ReplyDeleteHalcyon -- Merci, but don't imagine you will be wearing these in Jackson.
