Pâtisserie Gérard Mulot -- Miam-miam!

The pâtisseries of Paris provide a sugar feast for the eyes and Gérard Mulot in le 6ième arr. has a history of delicious offerings, both savory and sweet. The day in June when Marie and I walked past the pâtisserie on Rue de Seine, there was a line of anticipating customers that snaked out the door and around the corner.

According to Carol G at Paris Breakfasts, you stand in line to pick out your treat, you stand in another line to pay, and then you retrieve your pink box which will hopefully contain just what you selected and paid for! Miam-miam!

  1. I think I should maybe switch for a while to looking at your delicious snaps instead of sampling my delicious recipes...my hips would thank me for it! And the eye candy of yours is guaranteed

  3. "Walked past" bien sur -- Why on earth did we not sample a bit more on our trip??? What were we thinking??? Looking at this beautiful reminder of what we saw (and didn't eat) makes me marvel at our self-control!

  4. Yum. I like what you say about choosing in one place, paying in one place, and picking up in another. This used to be common practice for just about any purchase in France!

  5. Gérard Mulot, if memory serves me our Shell Sherree has immortalized this place with a dear little illo she painted of some macarons I photographed last summer. Oui, you and Marie were very good girls and didn't eat your way through Paris...maybe drank your way?? Teehee.

  6. It's breakfast time in our part of "the colony across the pond," and this is what we get?

Too rich for breakfast, I think, but a wonderful treat for the eyes (and imagination)!

For now, I'm just happy to save the calories and enjoy your feast for the eyes, Genie—thanks!

  10. I am reading all of my comments and just want to tell you all how nice it is to read them all!

When in Paris you do not worry too much about WW as you walk so much you likely will not have a "weighty" surprise when you return home!

Shell's art is exquisite and I love that one of Gérard Mulot. I must get her a stack of macarons as "resource" for her macaron-art!

To all, the pâtisseries of Paris make my eyes so happy, and occasionally my tummy!

  12. Bergson -- Mais bien sûr je suis une tentatrice avec mes gâteaux! Tu te mettrai au régime? Pourquoi?

(I really hope that "temptress" in French is not a bad word as I have had my share of using words and phrases with bad connotations)

    Merci, Bergson!
