Le photographe -- Fabien Breuvart

Inside le Marché des Enfants Rouge is this delightful and talented photographer, Fabien Breuvart.

To see more of Fabien Breuvart enjoy this video in which he spoke of his art in 2007. He has been supportive of the sans-papiers using his art medium and it was reported here (in English) in septembre 2008. In novembre 2009 at Paris Photo 2009 he pulled this incredible stunt that captured the crowd -- You will love the video even if you do not speak French!

Oh yes, I do see that twinkle in his eye and think that we will hear much more from him.

  2. Hi Genie: What a lovely face and such a cheeky grin - I think a sense of humour would be at the top of his assets!! Great shot.

  3. HA! I was so busy photographing him iwth his pal that day that I didn't get his name etc. Thanks for the information. Remember, he was quite curious as to what I was photographing in his shop! I never thought to ask his name. Just thought he worked there. Glad you were on top of it Genie. I'll link here when I post my photo for the two of them. Yours is much better!

  5. Shell -- I think that he was amused by les Américaines.

Dianne -- When he dumped about 10 garbage bags of old photos at the opening reception for Paris Photo 2009, I think he must have had that same wry humor.

M -- Merci, as I struggled to decide.

JM -- Thanks for visiting and for your comment yesterday too.

V -- Yes, I think that we swarmed him and probably amused him. It was great to find out something about the artist himself.

Oh, I have "the bug" but need another name for it. Ideas?

Loree -- Your b/w photos are so descriptive -- I am glad you like this one. I think his eyes tell it all, n'est-ce pas?

  13. Randy -- Glad you stopped in. Have a great weekend also.

Paula -- After he agreed that I could take his picture, I did not want to snap 10 of them. This was my only shot -- lucky!

  14. Oh I snapped 7 I think. You know me, I'm not afraid! ha The friend wouldn't look up and he kept saying something like, " Look up and smile for this crazy américaine so they will be on their way." In French of course, so I'm not sure at all.

  15. Virginia -- I think that I got one side shot of the two of them as they were facing you and grinning. Your translation of what they were saying? ..... meh, oui!
