Tartine et Chocolat
This boutique is next door to Repetto on Rue de la Paix
so it is a stop for me on every visit to Paris.
Some chic babies in Paris will be dressed in saumon et gris this season,
but I do not think that those little soft shoes will do well in the chalky dust of Tuilleries.
At this age, she will probably ride in a poussette (stroller), oui?

Delightful! Looks like my kind of boutique! My daughters would have loved it when then they were the "little age" and still would, I'm sure! Hope you have a lovely week, Genie!

Where's her head?! I guess she doesn't need one when she's so beautifully dressed! I received a gift of eau de toilette from this store when I had No 4. Apparently it is quite a French thing to receive - it isn't a very strong scent, very baby appropriate and perfect for after bath.
ReplyDeleteHello Genie:
ReplyDeleteThere is something delightfully old fashioned in appearance about these clothes which makes them particularly appealing. But, as you say, the shoes are not so robust when it comes to serious walking!!
Oh la la. Quelle élégance! Those shoes - unlike the famous boots - were not made for walkin' !!! :-) Veronique - from the sailboat - (French Girl in Seattle)
ReplyDeleteVery funny shot. The head is very strong not there. Thanks for showing.
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice shop window with elegant clothes for the little ones.
ReplyDeleteKristy and sc took the words right out of my mouth. Where's the head? Perhaps it's easier to dress without one or maybe it's designed this way to attract attention. Could it be that they thought a head would reduce the opportunity of spontaneous purchases. Do they think if people saw the outfit on a child with a round head it would be unsuitable for children with more elongated features. For me a head is preferable. It looks rather odd without one. I'm pleased the child mannequin has an adult mannequin to watch out for it. Please don't tell me the adult mannequin was headless too. J.
ReplyDelete... and the mother with matching colours - or vice versa! :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious outfit. But oui, she will need a stroller.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I couldn't resist walking in the Repetto store...
Sam
le pauvre petite. ou est sa tete? (apologies for the very bad french)
ReplyDeleteCute 20s Jodhurs! ;-)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Genie, like the little princess that she is!
ReplyDeleteHer little outfit reminds me of a Saltambique from a Picasso painting...I too am wondering where is her head & am kind of missing it! The little slippers are my favorite part of her costume!
ReplyDeleteA~D~O~R~A~B~L~E. The child who dons this outfit will be a fashionista for sure! HA :)
ReplyDeletenot very comfortable for a child this age
ReplyDeleteun peu vieux jeu?? :)
we had a shop here in Brussels like that but it is gone, I believe.
Poor kid was so excited, she lost her head.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely outfit and the shoes are so pretty
ReplyDelete"...off with her head!"
ReplyDeleteWith a new granddaughter I am afraid this shop would temp me...
ReplyDeleteBTW...your secret is safe with me!Question is.... do you know how to use it?
Oui, but then chocolate is always so messy with children :-)
ReplyDeleteThis bébé may be headless, but she is super chic! (Do they call this outfit "Marie Antoinette"?)
ReplyDeleteIt's so adorable -- how I wish I had a little one to buy that for!
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable, ever so stylish outfit. The little girl who wears it will be super lucky.. (and very fashionable.)
ReplyDeleteThe colors are wonderful, but I wonder if the outfit is really going to get much real-life use. Maybe the store is a bit too precious . . .
ReplyDeleteSweet outfit.
ReplyDeleteWell, your comments did leave me stumped, but after looking at photos from this shop over the past two years I can tell you that none of the manequins have heads!
ReplyDeleteAlexa, it took me two seconds to catch the reference - hah!
Peter, I think that the companion is an older sister as the boutique sells for children as well as for babies.
Kirsty, I think that is a delightful gift and one much appreciated by a mom!
Sketchbook, but at least Picasso included their heads...
Sam, never ever resist the Repetto store!
Joe, yes, the older manequin was.... headless!
Jane and Lance, how delighted I am that you have returned from your vacation.
Janey, yes, bien sûr!
Bises,
Genie
